These plant food spikes contain natural ingredients, and provide nutrition directly to the roots where trees need it most. In addition, these tree fertilizer spikes promote vibrant color and foliage. For use with deciduous, flowering, and evergreen trees and shrubs, these plant food spikes are also great for acid-loving plants. Apply once a season in spring and fall for best results. To use, place the enclosed plastic cap on top of the spike and drive it into the ground around the tree or shrub following the drip line (as shown in the label illustration). Remove the plastic cap and continue to drive the spike 2 inches below the soil surface. Spikes should be placed at least 3 feet apart.
