We've been doing a lot of research here at Fun.com on what types of things children are afraid of. We've conducted experiments and analyzed our findings over and over again very carefully. We hypothesized that monsters would scare kids of all ages because, well, monsters by definition are meant to invoke fear. We thought that our hypothesis was foolproof and our results would conclude the theory but boy, were we wrong. Turns out that children actually love monsters, especially monsters featured in Disney/Pixar's Monster's Inc. They don't want to burst out into tears or run and hide when they see Mike Wazowski or his sidekick Sulley, on the contrary, kids feel the urge to run toward them for a hug. Our minds were blown! Alas, we were proven wrong.  
So we are passing all this helpful information on to you, the parent, with hopes that you can find the best costume for your little one. Since he or she is not frightened by the sight of monsters, perhaps dressing up as one of the Monsters Inc. characters is a great option. Luckily enough we have the perfect classic Mike costume that little ones love to wear. (How do we know? We did more experiments of course!)
