Recommended aquarium volume
The volume of the aquarium in liters, which will ensure the proper performance of the device. This parameter is usually indicated approximately, because it is important to take into account other factors: the degree of population of the monastery for underwater inhabitants, the size of the fish, the fauna of the aquarium, etc.
Performance
The performance of the compressor determines how much fresh air will enter the aquarium per unit of time. The performance of the compressor should approximately correspond to the volume of the serviced aquarium. If the capacity is designed for 200 liters, then it is recommended to choose a compressor with a capacity of at least 200-240 liters per hour (L / h).
Pressure
The air pressure generated by the compressor. Pressure is important to consider when determining the height of the air supply. High pressure compressors should be selected for tall aquariums. So, for an aquarium with a wall height of 50 – 70 cm, it is recommended that the compressor create a pressure of 0.02 – 0.04 MPa.
Outputs
The outlet (channel) is represented by a hose through which the compressor pumps air into the aquarium. The ordinary in-line compressor is equipped with a single-channel air duct design. But there are models for 2, 3 or more channels. The quality of aquarium maintenance depends on the number of channels. If for a small aquarium with a bottom area of 0.3 – 0.5 m², an ordinary single-channel compressor is usually enough, then for larger aquariums, with a bottom from 0.7 – 1 m² and above, at least 2 channels are needed.
Power control
The ability to adjust power allows you to reduce/increase compressor flow Rate, depending on need.
Compressors with power control are classified as advanced. By adjusting the optimal power, you can create ideal conditions for breeding specific representatives of flora and fauna.
Water column height
The maximum height to which the pump can push water. If you lower it below the maximum height of the water column, the air flow will meet with almost insurmountable resistance of the water column and the pump will not be able to work efficiently.
