No Frost

The presence of the No Frost system in one or more refrigerator compartments.

This system prevents the formation of frost on the walls of the compartment, as happens in models without No Frost. No Frost is a technology used in refrigerators that removes moisture from the air inside to prevent frost buildup. It works by condensing water vapor and evaporating it outside the refrigerator. However, this feature can cause food to dry out more quickly, so proper packaging is essential.

In modern refrigerators, No Frost can be provided both in the refrigerator and in the freezer, and often in both compartments at once. When deciding whether to choose a No Frost refrigerator, it is important to weigh the benefits of not having to defrost against the possible downside of faster drying of food products. This feature is more advantageous for the freezer, as the benefits of No Frost are more significant at sub-zero temperatures and the disadvantages are less noticeable.

Storage compartments

Apart from shelves, there are several additional compartments in a refrigerator, including a a freshness zone, a humidity zone, a multi-zone and a shelf for bottles.

— Freshness zone.It is a special compartment in a refrigerator designed for storing fresh products for an extended period. The temperature in this zone is slightly lower than the refrigerating chamber, typically around zero degrees, earning it the nickname "zero chamber". Such conditions help to preserve the freshness of products for up to 3-4 days. However, it's important to note that the temperature in the zero chamber may vary depending on the refrigerator model, ranging from 0 °C to +1...3 °C, which can impact the preservation of stored products.

— Humidity zone. Another specialized compartment, similar to the freshness zone, is designed to preserve the freshness of food items for an extended period. However, this compartment maintains high humidity at the same temperature as the rest of the refrigerator, which prevents the products from drying out. This feature is especially important for refrigerators with No Frost systems, which tend to blow moisture out of the refrigerator, leading to quicker drying of the contents.

— Multi-zone. This compartment in a refrigerator combines several functions of different compartments, such as the ability to w...ork as a refrigerator or a freezer, along with other specific features like quickly cooling drinks, slow defrosting, and cooling hot dishes. Modern refrigerators offer more extensive capabilities with specific features, making the multi-zone compartment a valuable addition. Some models have the entire freezer performing the function of a multi-zone chamber, but most models have a separate compartment for it. The presence of a multi-zone compartment significantly expands the capabilities of a refrigerator.

— Shelf for bottles. It is a hanging accessory, typically in the form of a lattice, that is installed under a shelf in the refrigerator. It allows bottles to be stored horizontally, which saves space in the refrigerator while keeping them organized.

Controls

Refrigerator control panel. To date, there are such options:

Rotary switches. While a rotary switch technically has the potential to be used for a wide range of functions, in practice, this variety is typically only found in basic models with limited functionality. In such cases, control is often done manually by turning a thermostat knob, with limited options for adjusting temperature, humidity, and other settings.

Push-buttons. CRefrigerators can have a control panel with classic buttons that offer various functionalities depending on the model. These functionalities can range from basic adjustments (similar to rotary switches) to fine-tuning of temperature and humidity, control of special modes, and more. Compared to rotary switches, push-buttons generally offer a wider range of possibilities.

Touch. Touch panels are a modern and stylish control option for refrigerators, which requires a light touch to operate. They are considered the most advanced type of control, providing convenient and extensive functionality. Touch panels are typically installed in premium models, where they add to the device's aesthetic appeal with a minimum of unnecessary protruding parts.
