Rated power
The power generated by the meat grinder motor during operation. The efficiency of work directly depends on the power: the greater the power, the more solid products the meat grinder is able to process and, usually, the higher the capacity (see Capacity). For most cases, a meat grinder with a power of 100 – 400 W is sufficient, however, for complex work with “heavy” products, more powerful devices are still required.
Rated is the power at which the device is able to operate for a long time without overheating, breakdown and other unpleasant consequences.
Capacity
The amount of meat that the meat grinder can process in one minute. More
powerful meat grinders(see Power) are usually more performant, however, these two parameters are not directly related — the meat grinders with the same capacity may have different power, and vice versa, equally powerful devices may differ significantly in performance.
Reverse
The reverse function allows you to scroll the spiral auger of the meat grinder in the opposite direction, due to which the auger is freed from the veins wound around it. Thus, it is not necessary to disassemble the meat grinder for cleaning every time — it is enough to turn on the
reverse and remove the clogging pushed out to the feed opening.
Body material
The body of a modern meat grinder is most often made of plastic or metal.
Plastic devices usually weigh less and cost less; in turn,
metal ones are more durable and look “more solid”. At the same time, there are models made of both of these materials —
plastic and metal. Such a solution elevates the models to a more status rank, but at the same time does not deprive them of lightness and design variations.
Loading tray material
The loading tray in modern meat grinders can be made of
plastic or
metal. Plastic trays are lighter and cheaper, but prone to scratches and discoloration over time, while more expensive metal trays are stronger and more durable.
Carrying handle
The presence of a handle on the body of the device, which allows you to easily move the device. This is especially true for heavy metal models that are regularly hidden in a closet.
Compartment/stand for storing nozzles
The presence of a separate
compartment for storing removable nozzles in the body or stand of the meat grinder. The organizer built into the meat grinder greatly simplifies the storage of working equipment. For storage of nozzles/grilles, the device provides a secret compartment covered with a lid.
Compartment for cord
A special compartment in the body of the device for storing the power cord. Often such compartments are also equipped with devices for uniform winding of the wire, which prevents bending and possible fractures.
The compartment for the cord is especially useful if the meat grinder is used relatively rare and has been idle for a long time outside the kitchen.
