Rated power

The power generated by the meat grinder motor during operation. The efficiency of work directly depends on the power: the greater the power, the more solid products the meat grinder is able to process and, usually, the higher the capacity (see Capacity). For most cases, a meat grinder with a power of 100 – 400 W is sufficient, however, for complex work with “heavy” products, more powerful devices are still required.

Rated is the power at which the device is able to operate for a long time without overheating, breakdown and other unpleasant consequences.

Peak power

Peak power is responsible for emergency situations, the device is able to work on it for a short time, however, long-term work with such a load is fraught with a meat grinder breakdown.

Capacity

The amount of meat that the meat grinder can process in one minute. More powerful meat grinders(see Power) are usually more performant, however, these two parameters are not directly related — the meat grinders with the same capacity may have different power, and vice versa, equally powerful devices may differ significantly in performance.

Number of speeds

The presence of several speeds allows you to select the desired mode for processing a particular product. The speed of the meat grinder directly affects its performance. Usually, meat grinders have a minimum number of speeds, one or two, in rare cases — three. The initial speed is suitable for processing small and medium-sized pieces, while it will be possible to effectively grind even large-sized products at higher speeds.

Body material

The body of a modern meat grinder is most often made of plastic or metal. Plastic devices usually weigh less and cost less; in turn, metal ones are more durable and look “more solid”. At the same time, there are models made of both of these materials — plastic and metal. Such a solution elevates the models to a more status rank, but at the same time does not deprive them of lightness and design variations.

Compartment/stand for storing nozzles

The presence of a separate compartment for storing removable nozzles in the body or stand of the meat grinder. The organizer built into the meat grinder greatly simplifies the storage of working equipment. For storage of nozzles/grilles, the device provides a secret compartment covered with a lid.
