Number of modes

The number of operating modes provided in the design of the bath.

The mode in this case means a certain predetermined format of work, which may include one type of massage (see below) or several types at the same time, the use of additional functions (see "Features"), etc. For example, a model with 3 modes may include only vibromassage, vibromassage plus jacuzzi, and "vibro plus jacuzzi plus maintenance the temperature". The specific combination of individual modes can vary significantly between different models, and it's essential to consult the manufacturer's documentation for precise details, however, the more options, the more versatile the device is and the higher the probability of finding the optimally suitable programme of work in it.

It's important to consider that in models featuring rotary switches (refer to "Control"), the number of modes typically aligns with the number of switch positions. However, in baths with push-button controls, there are variations where no predefined programs are present, allowing users to customize their experience by selecting from a wide array of available massage types and additional features. In such devices, the number of modes might not be specified at all.

Features

Water heating. The capability of the bath to warm cold water poured into it to a comfortable temperature is a valuable feature. This not only eliminates the need for users to heat water separately but also reduces the risk of damaging the device with excessively hot liquid. Typically, this function is coupled with overheating protection, which shuts off the heater when temperatures reach a critical level. It's important to mention that not all bathtubs with heating elements can actively heat the water; some heaters are designed solely for maintaining the water temperature (as explained below).

Infrared radiation. The presence of an infrared lighting system in the design of the bath. Infrared radiation warms up the skin and joints, expanding blood vessels and increasing blood circulation in the feet; this provides not only a healing effect, but also additional comfort due to the clearly felt warmth.

Aromatherapy. The bath includes an aromatherapy feature, denoting models equipped with oil dispensers that release fine aromatic oil particles into the air. These dispensers can operate either manually, activated by user command, or automatically, releasing portions of aromatic substances at set intervals. Aromatherapy can offer both relaxing and invigorating effects, proving effective for various conditions like colds and mood enhancement. However, it...'s crucial to be aware that the procedure itself and specific oil types may have contraindications, necessitating careful usage with appropriate precautions in mind.

— Magnetotherapy. The bath includes a magnetotherapy feature, which uses permanent magnets. This magnetic field exposure is believed to enhance blood circulation and alleviate leg heaviness.

— Maintenance of water temperature. The bath features a water temperature maintenance function, which is notably convenient as warm water tends to cool down faster than desired without additional heating. These models incorporate a heating element in their design. However, it's important to highlight that temperature maintenance doesn't always imply the capability to actively heat cold water (as explained earlier). In some instances, the heater's power may be limited, sufficient only for preventing the liquid from cooling further, and it may not have the capacity to heat cold water to the desired temperature. To ensure the device can both maintain and heat water to a comfortable temperature, it's essential to check the specifications explicitly stating both functions.

— Adjustment of water temperature. The bath offers adjustable water temperature control, typically involving both heating and temperature maintenance (as discussed previously). Models with this capability provide exceptional convenience since you can select the ideal thermostat setting once and not worry about comfort thereafter. However, it's worth noting that such baths tend to be relatively costly.

— Automatic nozzle rotation. The presence in the design of the bath of a system that automatically turns on the rotation of the nozzle when the foot is placed on it. Usually, to operate, you need to lightly press the nozzle — this is often easier and more convenient than working with a separate switch, which you would have to bend over every time.

— Shutdown timer. The presence of a shutdown timer in the design of the bath. This function allows you to set the time after which the device automatically turns off — which relieves the user of the need to keep track of time and makes it possible to enjoy a massage without unnecessary worries. In some models, the timer can have fixed values, in others almost any option is available within the operating range.

Power

The maximum power consumption of the bath during regular operation is a crucial factor, primarily influencing electricity usage. However, in modern massage baths, even the most potent models typically have relatively modest power requirements. Consequently, issues related to electrical connections are usually not a concern. You should primarily consider this parameter if energy conservation or minimizing the strain on your power grid is particularly important to you. It's worth noting that this factor also partly determines the device's class: advanced models, with their rich array of features, typically demand higher power, with rare exceptions.

Display

The presence of its own display in the design of a foot massaging bath. These displays typically feature simple monochrome screens, but they are entirely capable of showing various operational parameters: the selected mode and functions, water temperature, timer data, malfunction warnings, and more. Models with this feature are usually quite expensive, but this is due not so much to the presence of screens as to the overall abundance of functions. Adding a display to a basic model with minimal features often doesn't justify the cost.
