Palit GeForce RTX 3050 StormX 6GB is a miniature modification of the budget GeForce RTX 3050 video card with a reduced cooling system and a 6 GB memory buffer. It belongs to the middle entry-level segment and is part of the StormX line of miniature video cards, for which Palit engineers select mainly inexpensive and not very powerful NVIDIA video accelerators with modest power consumption and heat dissipation. Palit GeForce RTX 3050 StormX 6GB is built on the Ampere series graphics chip (8 nm, 2304 stream processors, 1492 MHz frequency), which is most suitable for not too demanding online games and AAA blockbusters in 1080p resolution with mixed graphics settings. It is also equipped with separate cores for hardware ray tracing, but the power density of the chip does not allow it to provid...e realistic lighting without a serious performance hit. In some cases, activating the DLSS 2 upscaler can help, but its use can lead to the appearance of subtle artifacts such as ghosting. Compared to the more powerful Palit Firestorm and Trinity series graphics cards, this GPU, like its Solo series brethren, is focused on quiet and efficient operation. It is also suitable for installation inside a compact case that does not fit a standard video card with two or three fans. The PCB is only 162mm long, only 2 slots wide, and the cooling system features a single fan that does a surprisingly good job of cooling the GPU. And when the operating temperature drops below 50 degrees Celsius, the fan switches to a passive silent operating mode. Plus, the ventilation holes in the protective casing are made in the form of a honeycomb, which increases the efficiency of heat transfer.
