Canon launches the 8.0 megapixel Digital IXUS 950 IS, the successor to the award-winning Digital IXUS 800 IS. Featuring a striking tri-colour metallic finish and distinctive body lines, the Digital IXUS 950 IS is equipped with a 4x optical zoom lens, optical image stabilizer and DIGIC III image processor. In addition to faster processing speeds and improved noise reduction technology, the DIGIC III processor provides Canon-developed face detection and red-eye reduction for stunning portrait shots.
Other key innovations include ISO 1600 equivalent sensitivity and Auto ISO Shift for improved low-light performance, as well as a 2.5-inch PureColor LCD screen for improved colour reproduction and scratch resistance.
