Samsung SGH-P520 Armani

You can argue for a long time about what is in the design of this phone - from Samsung, and what - from the fashion house Armani. Undoubtedly, Samsung has its own cohort of creative designers who have a proven track record of creating stylish high-end phones, phones that grab the attention of others.

The tradition of cooperation with eminent designers was established by LG, having organized the participation of specialists from Prada in the development of its own fashionable model. However, the SGH-P520 Armani is a completely original solution, with its own merits and unique elements of composition.

The phone belongs to the class of so-called Card Phones, several models of which Samsung already has in its lines of premium-class mobile phones. With a weight of 87.5x54.5x10.5 mm, it weighs only 84 grams. Despite the fact that the thing is so compact, it is impossible to forget it at a party or a club - it immediately catches the eye and reminds of itself, even if there is no need to make calls.

The phone is made in a strict, minimalist design, which did not make it any worse. In fact, the front panel is just a large display and two buttons on a thin metal panel - accept / disable.

The display of the P520 Armani is really large and convenient - 2.6``, with a resolution of 320x240 pixels, the phone functions are controlled by pressing the screen with your fingers. In the case of the P520, the use of a stylus is not provided - the system only responds to finger presses. It is convenient that the phone supports a kind of `feedback`. When you press the command execution keys, it starts to vibrate easily.

The screen is readable in almost any conditions. Moreover, on a sunny day, you can manually select a special mode that increases the brightness of the display. By default, a strict, or rather, calm theme with soft, calm colours is used. She is also the only one. There is no theme change. For such a phone, this is for the best - the original intent of the designers is adequately conveyed.

The phone has over 60 megabytes of built-in memory. This is not enough to store media files under any circumstances, however, the P520's memory is not intended for this, mainly it is useful for installing all kinds of applications. But, there is a slot for microSD-cards, allowing you to use 1-2-4 GB of additional memory.

By the way, the phone can also be used instead of a flash drive. For data transfer and connection, it is generally used as USB 2.0. as well as a Bluetooth interface. Of course, the latter supports any compatible stereo headsets.

The phone uses Samsung's proprietary Croix user interface. When it is called, the main menu tabs are displayed in the form of a cross (hence, in fact, the name). In general, if you do not take into account the usual inconvenience associated with the use of touch screens, working with the interface is quite comfortable.

There is a voice recorder, a simple notepad for short text notes, an image editor and some other auxiliary programs. In general, a simple set of programs is presented for performing everyday, not too burdensome and resource-intensive tasks. Supports reading most file formats MS Office, PDF, etc.

The Mobile Tracker function, which is not uncommon nowadays, is curious. If the phone is stolen or lost, when the SIM card is changed to a `spare` number, a message is sent with the data (number) of the new `sim card`. With these data, you can contact the police or other structures and organizations ready to help.

The P520 Armani uses a 3.2 megapixel CMOS camera. Resolutions from 320x240 to 2048x1536 pixels are supported. Unfortunately, the camera does not have autofocus. As in any telephone `cameras`, when shooting, in most cases it is worth choosing the maximum quality. It definitely won't get any worse. Shooting in series of 6, 9 and 15 shots is supported, the `white balance` function, ISO sensitivity setting and zoom up to 10x (naturally, digital) are supported. The camera is capable of recording video from 128x96 to 352x288 pixels with a frame rate of 15 fps.
