The first major change concerns the replacement of the Nvidia TU106 GPU with a more powerful TU104. Thanks to him, the number of active universal shader processors, texture units and tensor units increased by 11%. GPU clock speeds have also been significantly increased. An equally important factor was the replacement of the 2-fan cooling system with a reinforced 3-fan Tri Frozr. It has an impressive weight and size, which precludes installation in compact cases, but provides excellent cooling at a low noise level (passive cooling in idle). Thanks to this upgrade and a slight factory overclocking of the GPU, the gaming perfor...mance of the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING X TRIO graphics card reaches the level of the GeForce RTX 2080 models. It is quite enough to get a consistently high frame rate in all popular games of 2015-2019 at maximum graphics quality settings in resolutions up to 2560x1440. The Tri Frozr cooling system has an impressive margin of safety for overclocking experiments. The card requires the connection of two additional PCI-E 8-pin power lines and a high-quality power supply with a power of at least 650 W. |
