Outdated Product
One of the most affordable entry-level gaming graphics cards with a shortened PCB no longer than 168mm and a factory overclocked GPU. It is positioned as a product of the basic price category of the 2019 model year, designed to complete ultra-compact gaming, consumer and multimedia HTPC systems at a reasonable cost. Due to its small overall dimensions, it can be installed in any mini-ITX and microATX cases. It is a deep upgrade of the previous model Palit GeForce GTX 1650 StormX OC. Unlike it, this video adapter received a more efficient mid-range graphics processor Nvidia TU116. Its base clock speed increased by 45 MHz, and the number of universal CUDA cores and texture units increased by 43%, which had the most positive impact on GPU performance. The graphics memory subsystem has also un...dergone radical improvements. Instead of the traditional GDDR5 (8000 MHz), progressive GDDR6 memory (14000 MHz) was used, and the data bus width was increased from 128 to 192 bits. Thanks to this upgrade, the performance of the Palit GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER StormX OC graphics card has increased by 20-40% compared to its predecessor. The graphics card can provide comfortable gameplay in the vast majority of popular AAA-class games of 2015-2020 in FullHD resolution at high/maximum graphics settings. Economical (TDP 100 W), does not require powerful power supplies.

Storm

About the GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER, we are unlikely to tell something new. A card based on the 12nm Turing microarchitecture has replaced the regular GeForce GTX 1650, depriving it of any point in buying it. An increase of 30 – 35% of power for the same money — who will refuse this?

Lightweight Champion

The guys from Palit have further developed the principle of "more performance for less money." Their 1650 SUPER variation called StormX OC is one of the most affordable versions of this graphics card. In addition, instead of a dual cooler, they used a simplified Cooling system with a single cooler, an aluminium radiator and only three copper heat pipes. Considering that the card is already quite cold, the reduced dimensions give room for manoeuvre, this one can be used with a compact microATX motherboard and a Cube Case. The cooler seemed a little noisy to us, but this is treated in the Palit ThunderMaster proprietary utility by a slight decrease in the number of revolutions. If the extra noise does not bother you, then you can squeeze an additional 5-7% out of the existing chip and memory through manual overclocking.

Comfortable 60 FPS on high graphics settings

And now from numbers to business. Despite the budgetary status of the Palit GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER StormX OC, it pulls well in modern toys. Especially if you put aside the maniacal desire to run absolutely everything on Ultra settings and 4K resolution. So, in conjunction with the Ryzen 5 2600 at high graphics settings and optional anti-aliasing, we got the following picture: an average of 74 frames per second in Gears oF War 5, 47 FPS in RDR2 and 95 FPS in Battlefield 5. As you can see, if you do not increase the resolution so you can play comfortably.
