A-Data SE760 ASE760-256GU32G2-CTI 256 GB
![]() | Outdated Product An affordable and fairly fast external SSD designed for everyday tasks, including backups, large file transfers, and expanding internal storage for laptops and PCs. Despite its low price, it offers a successful combination of a metal casing, USB C 3.2 Gen2 interface, and 3D TLC NAND memory, making it capable of meeting the needs of most users who do not require extreme performance. With read speeds of up to 1000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 800 MB/s, it confidently copies large projects, edits videos in basic quality, or runs applications directly from the drive. When connected via the USB 3.2 Gen2 interface, the device nearly fully reveals its speed, so users won't have to wait long for copying to complete. The casing is made of anodized aluminum with a minimalist finish, giving the SE7...60 a sleek and modern look. The metal not only gives the device a neat appearance but also serves as a passive radiator, which is important for stable operation during extended data transfers. The drive comes with two cables—USB C – USB C and USB C – USB A—making it ready to connect to any modern device without additional adapters. A 3-year warranty corresponds to the device's class and confirms the reliability of the controller and memory used in its design. The 256 GB capacity may seem limited in the context of modern requirements, but for specific scenarios—such as document backups, transportable projects, and software storage—it remains quite relevant. |

Light, fast and compact
The A-Data SE760 is made in the same style as the popular A-Data SE800 SSD: the body is easily hidden in a shirt pocket, there are a minimum of identification marks on the end, and the brushed metal lies nicely in the hand. The only difference is that the SE760 has a more oblong case and is not protected from water. That's why it's a little cheaper. Against the backdrop of ever-shrinking external drives, the A-Data SE760 is far from the most compact solution. Its weight is only 95 grams with dimensions of 122x44x14 mm. It's a little bigger than a plastic credit card or a massive Zippo gas lighter.
Support for next generation consoles
For data transfer, A-Data SE760 is equipped with a double-sided USB-C connector, which makes it easy to connect to modern PCs and laptops with this port. This is a plus, since personally in our case the drive quickly became friends with both the MacBook and the Linux workstation. Using the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, the drive's read speed can reach up to 1000MB/s, which is almost twice that of other available external SSDs. There is also official support for next-generation consoles from Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X and Series S. Needless to say, these are important advantages over other available “outsiders”?
Speeds up to 1000 Mb/s
However, if your motherboard does not support this interface or the device does not have UASP drivers installed, you can count on speeds within the usual 250 – 550 MB / s. It all depends on the buffer load, the number of files being transferred, their size, etc. Given the rather affordable price of the SE760, speeds above 550 MB / s can be more easily perceived as a bonus.
