A full-frame video-oriented mirrorless camera in a compact design. The camera features a 33-megapixel back-illuminated image sensor borrowed from the popular Sony A7 IV model. The sensor uses a dual base ISO sensitivity: 800 and 4000 units (to minimize noise in low-light conditions). Video can be recorded at a maximum resolution of 4K at 30 fps from the entire matrix plane or in 4K at 60 fps, but with a crop factor down to APS-C format.
Continuous video recording is possible for over 12 hours, achieved thanks to an advanced cooling system. The model also performs well in photo mode, supporting RAW format recording. The Sony FX2 kit includes a matrix image stabilization system, a rotating rear display, and a tilting viewfinder with a 0.5-inch OLED panel for framing. In terms of video capabilities, the operator has access to All-I and HEVC codecs, support for Catalyst software, S-Cinetone recording, custom LUT uploads, and more. Additionally, the model features advanced autofocus tracking insects, animals, birds, vehicles, recognizing people, faces, and eyes. Highlights: Full-frame video capabilities, 33MP sensor, dual ISO sensitivity, 12-hour continuous recording, advanced cooling, RAW photo support, matrix stabilization, All-I and HEVC codecs, and sophisticated autofocus.

33 MP Full-Frame Sensor
The camera is equipped with a back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R sensor paired with the powerful Bionz XR image processor. The 33 MP sensor is borrowed from the Sony A7 IV mirrorless camera. The model’s video-oriented design is emphasized by the convenient control layout, multiple tripod mounts on the body, and a tilting viewfinder capable of rotating up to 90°. This design greatly simplifies mounting the camera on stabilizers and rigs.
Video Capabilities
Using the full sensor area, the camera records 4K video at up to 30 fps. For shooting at 60 fps, an APS-C crop with a 1.5x factor is used. In video mode, All-I and HEVC codecs, S-Log profiles, and custom LUT uploading are supported. Recorded footage is saved to SD UHS-II and CFexpress Type A memory cards — two slots are provided for them.
Onboard Features
The mirrorless camera is equipped with a mechanical shutter, which helps reduce the rolling shutter effect when shooting fast-moving subjects. Users also get a 3-inch rotating touchscreen and an advanced autofocus system with AI recognition of people, animals, birds, and vehicles. The camera body features reliable dust and moisture protection.
