How to choose a gaming headphoneWe understand the differences between regular and gaming headphones, tell you how to approach the choice of a headset wisely
Model overview based on user reviews
The Sennheiser PXC 550-II headphones offer a mix of pros and cons. Users appreciate the good sound quality, which can be adjusted through an app, and the comfortable ergonomics that don't press on the ears or head. The touchpad is responsive and intuitive, enhancing user experience. However, there are notable drawbacks, such as the poor build quality with cheap-looking plastic and the use of microUSB, which feels outdated. Some users find the headphones quiet and experience issues with incorrect autopause and terrible noise canceling. Additionally, the headphones can become warm during use, and the cable may wear out over time. Despite these issues, the headphones are still considered excellent by some, especially for their sound quality, although they may not be ideal for use as a headset from a PC.

Cons

Total disappointment, not headphones

The build quality leaves much to be desired, and the presence of microUSB is frankly surprising in 2020. The plastic looks cheap. The headphones have a nice soft lining, unfortunately, it heats up the ears a lot. I was disappointed by the fact that the headphones are quiet. And it is a brand known for its sound quality. The sound mode cannot be selected directly in the headphones, this must be done through the application. To enjoy the sound, I have to turn up the volume. It is difficult to find a golden mean for listening to music in such cases: sometimes too quiet, sometimes too loud. In addition, the headphones can pause playback. I don't even touch the earpiece and it just pauses every 2-3 seconds. The touchpad in the headphones is surprisingly good: very responsive and not picky. Noise canceling is terrible. Sometimes I hear strange echoes. I do not use the voice assistant function. Headphones are disappointing.
Nice soft ear pad. The touchpad in the headphones is good: very responsive and not picky.

Despite the drawbacks, these are excellent headphones.

I liked them, the volume is excellent, everyone I let listen asked to turn it down even at 80 percent. Synchronization with the device is quick, but there's a lack of switching between devices. Noise cancellation is sufficient (mainly blocks low frequencies). The transparency mode is great (although I don't use it), but auto-pause is not correct (which might cause someone's sound to interrupt while moving). After 2 years, I changed the ear cushions; by the 4th year, the headband started to crumble, and by the 5th year, the cable became slightly frayed at the folding point (contact is lost). I use them very actively. The sound is top-notch for me.
The sound is good (I adjust it in the app as needed depending on usage). Ergonomics (doesn't press on ears and head). The controls are extremely simple and intuitive.
Not that I'm disappointed, but I can point out incorrect autopause and the lack of device switching as downsides. It's a pity that the cable wore out at the bend (but that's 5 years, Karl). And also, micro USB.
maybe it was worth taking a different brand of headphones

they fit your ears well and you don’t get tired of them after prolonged use.
when using headphones as a headset from a PC (in Discord), the headphones produce sound like a hand-free headset, the sound is as bad as possible...
