A high-end device released in the summer of 2017 and continuing the tradition of the “flagship killer” characteristic of OnePlus: in terms of equipment, it is practically not inferior to analogues from more famous brands, but it costs much less. Made in a metal case with 2.5D-glass covering the screen. The latter has an Optic AMOLED matrix with Full HD resolution at a diagonal of 5.5 "— not a particularly impressive indicator for a flagship. However, this is offset by many other points, primarily the hardware platform: it is built on the Snapdragon 835 processor with 6 GB of RAM in the OnePlus 5 smartphone. memory, despite the fact that this model in the line is the youngest. For the same reason, the built-in drive can accommodate "only" 64 GB (unfortunately, without the possibility of expa...nsion with memory cards). And the OS used is Android 7.1 with minimal additions from the manufacturer.Separately, it is worth touching on the cameras On the back of the device is a dual module that combines 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel (optical zoom 1.33x), and the front camera has a sensor for the same 16 MP.

Chinese vs Global Smartphone Versions: What’s the Difference? We'll explore the dangers of skimping on a Chinese smartphone and whether it makes sense.
awesome device

fast, spacious. The display is top-notch. The sound is excellent. What else do you need? Oh, yes - the price is very good.
buttons. volume control and power button on opposite edges. at first, accidentally did a full reset a couple of times. with the appearance of a case, the issue disappears. this is the only downside I found..
use OnePlus 5 128GB more than year
good model, liked it

Many customers want to get maximum performance for minimal money. However, not everyone knows how to achieve this. When it comes to smartphones, it is indeed possible to save without compromising class and quality. We have the Chinese to thank for this opportunity. It turns out that within the closed Chinese market, several very respectable companies have emerged over the past 10-15 years, which have now come to us and have caused a real "price drop." This phone is a true flagship in terms of its features and capabilities. While the price isn't budget-friendly, compared to other flagships from the 2017 model year, it's quite reasonable.
This is a smartphone you won't be ashamed to pull out of your pocket. The screen is of the highest quality and modern, made with Super AMOLED technology. Regardless of the lighting around, whether in complete darkness or under the brightest light, the image remains clear. The hardware (Snapdragon 835 + Adreno 540 + 8GB RAM) works lightning-fast. I think there are no apps or games today (except poorly coded ones) that can bring this platform to its knees. Blazing speed when loading programs and games. I could load a maximum of 4.4GB of RAM, so there's huge potential for the future. Plus, it's just nice to hold in your hands.
The only criticism for this smartphone is the lack of a memory card slot. Yes, you could argue that with 128 GB of onboard storage, expansion might not be necessary. And I might even agree if it weren't for the ability to shoot 4K video. Its bitrate is decent, and if you use this feature actively, 128 GB can be consumed quite quickly.
good model, like it

The phone is awesome. It flies like a jet. The fast charging mode is also a delight. But there’s a catch. The camera, to put it mildly, is not great. As an avid selfie lover (like me) and a product photographer (also me), the camera was a big disappointment. I thought for this price, the camera should not only take great photos but also set up compositions and angles by itself. Again, if you don't plan to take 200 photos a day, the phone is excellent. It doesn’t lag, holds a charge well, and can easily compete with Apple and Samsung.
Great build, runs fast, holds the battery well.
The camera is not very good.

The fifth generation of the smartphone with the nickname "flagship killer" really claims to be an alternative to the performant "sharks" from A-brands. And although OnePlus 5 has lost a touch of individuality in appearance, it will have to look for equals in terms of balanced characteristics.

Backlog for the future

The hardware on board the smartphone is represented by the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip and 6 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, it is impossible to expand the capacity of the data storage; instead, you can look at the version of the mobile gadget with a 128 GB drive. In the AnTuTu benchmark, a bunch of components produces more than 180K “points”, which indicates a significant reserve of power for the “hardware” in the long term.

SuperAMOLED screen

The smartphone was equipped with a high-quality SuperAMOLED-matrix of FullHD format. The pixel density at a diagonal of 5.5 "reaches 401ppi — not the most outstanding result in the class, however, even in this case, the individual points from which the picture is built will not interfere with the perception of the image. There was also a place on the front panel for the Home button with a built-in fingerprint sensor (in the "chin") and a 16-megapixel selfie camera (above the screen).

twin camera

A separate reason for pride is the paired main photomodule: one of the sensors in its composition shoots with the usual viewing angle (16 MP, maximum aperture f / 1.7), and the second is designed to implement the optical zoom function (20 MP, aperture f / 2.6). The camera adequately handles with photography, but it does not show itself in the best way when recording video — the lack of optical stabilization affects. At the same time, the videos themselves are written in resolution up to 3840x2160 pixels, which corresponds to the 4K format.

The nature of the killer

The OnePlus 5 is one of the few smartphones to feature an alert mode toggle on the side, eliminating the need to go into the settings menu to quickly mute the sound. But the USB Type-C port in the equipment of a mobile gadget leaves a double impression: on the one hand, it supports two-way use, and on the other, the USB 2.0 version is too slow today. Through the port, fast charging of the smartphone is also implemented — its tanks are filled with energy by more than half in just half an hour at the outlet. And even if the characteristic features of the killer flagships of OnePlus 5 are not as developed as they were in the first generations of the “killer”, the competitiveness of the model still remains at a very high level.
