Mirrorless camera with a full-frame image sensor from the class of advanced semi-professional cameras. The model features a Partially Stacked CMOS sensor with 24.5 MP, working in tandem with the high-performance EXPEED 7 chip. Compared to its predecessor model, the Nikon Z6 II, the matrix data readout speed has increased by approximately 3.5 times. Hardware improvements have enabled in-camera recording of 6K video in N-RAW and 12-bit ProRes RAW.

The captured materials are intended to be saved on XQD and UHS-II class SD memory cards, for which there are corresponding slots. The Nikon Z6 III body has an advanced autofocus system with object recognition based on artificial intelligence algorithms and matrix stabilization with a claimed effectiveness of up to 8 stops of shutter speed or exposure. For framing, a bright high-resolution OLED viewfinder is used, along with a 3.1-inch touch screen on a swivel hinge, or mobile devices connected via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The mirrorless camera is built in a dust- and moisture-resistant body weighing around 760 g.
