Air or liquid cooling — which is better?Which type of cooling to choose depending on the purpose of the PC

Which CPU cooler to choose?Nuances of choosing a CPU cooler that guarantee safety, durability and quiet operation of the PC
Model overview based on user reviews
The Zalman CNPS12X cooler is noted for its unusual and beautiful design, featuring blue lighting that resembles something out of a science fiction movie. While it offers decent cooling performance, it does not significantly outperform competitors. The cooler's large size often leads to installation challenges, potentially blocking components like expansion slots or memory with large radiators. Users have reported that the installation process is complicated, with unclear instructions. The included thermal paste is of poor quality, and although the fans are quiet, they are not replaceable, which could lead to issues if they start knocking. Overall, the cooler's high cost is seen as unjustified, with other models offering similar or better performance and easier fan replacement options. The focus on design over functionality is a recurring theme with Zalman products, and some users have experienced issues with the central fan after a short period.
Pros
Cons
I did not buy such a cooler, but helped a friend install it. Which I bought only “because it’s Zalman and because he looks cool.” But I wouldn’t take this for myself. The high cost is simply not justified. For the same money, you can find more compact and no less effective models in stores. And even those in which you can change the fan without any problems. And then everything went into design. This is not the first time I have noticed this with the Zalmans. The company pays more attention to design rather than characteristics. The build quality is ok, but not good enough for the price. I read on the Internet that many people complain about the knocking of the central fan, which appears after a month. Gentlemen, you can’t do this! Just a very unusual and beautiful design with lighting. Something from a science fiction movie, it looks awesome. I think that this alone will be the deciding factor for many buyers to purchase. It cools quite well, but not at all as you would expect from such a colossus. In this regard, it is in no way superior to coolers from other companies. I don’t even know what else can be added as a plus. Very big. Moreover, in all areas, installation problems are guaranteed in most cases. Either it simply won’t fit, or it will block something. In my case it was the top expansion slot. And the memory would just fit, there would be large radiators on it and that’s it, they’d arrive. It is interesting that the manufacturer does not mention this feature anywhere; the user learns about it through experience. Although the installation is already complicated, you have to resort to instructions in which little is clear. Disgusting thermal paste included. The fans are quiet, but they cannot be replaced. So when they knock, be prepared to remove this entire tower and throw it in the trash. That is, the purchase is made for at most a year and a half. just bought Zalman CNPS12X i recommend it don't buy |
