Features of the model (from the manufacturer's press release):
Optical system LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT
Elmarit lenses are at the forefront of compact Leica lenses. With a small size and excellent image quality, DC VARIO-ELMARIT lenses make shooting quick and easy. Featuring high-precision Leica DC optics, LUMIX digital cameras are capable of capturing the finest nuances of light and shadow.
MEGA BURST high-speed sequential shooting
When developing LUMIX cameras, we wanted to achieve not only the ability to capture the image of the subject in all its immediacy, but also to do it as quickly as SLR cameras equipped with an automatic film rewind mechanism. However, here we encountered a number of technical problems that previously seemed unsolvable. In the process of shooting, a digital camera "catches" an object through the lens, sends information about it to the CCD matrix, converts this signal, and then writes it to memory. Each of these stages of image processing requires a certain amount of time, the amount of which affects the speed of sequential shooting. Another revolutionary development by Panasonic, Super High Speed Sequential Filming, helped solve this problem. We have replaced serial signal processing with parallel one. This reduced the waiting time between shots.
Ultra-Speed Sequential Shooting is indispensable when working with fast-moving objects. Take a series of shots, and then, after choosing the best one, delete unwanted images. You don't have to throw away the film as you would if you were working with film cameras.
SD memory card: large capacity at the size of a postage stamp
All pictures taken are stored on an SD memory card, the perfect storage medium for digital cameras. Its small size (no bigger than a postage stamp), large capacity, and easy access/recording of data in a very short time have made it popular among owners of compact digital devices (PCs, camcorders, etc.) equipped with an SD memory card slot.
Eliminate the effect of hand-shake that reduces image clarity
Hand shaking with the camera is the main cause of fuzzy photos. LUMIX solves this problem with the advanced MEGA OIS optical image stabilization system. Built-in gyroscopic sensors detect the slightest camera movement and compensate for it by shifting the lens in the opposite direction. This system is fully optical and does not adversely affect the CCD or image processor, so images are clear and sharp without any degradation in quality. This allows the shutter speed to be increased by 3 levels* compared to the previous value, which was considered the maximum allowable due to the effect of hand-shake and was calculated as 1/f (unit divided by the focal length). This allows you to achieve high quality photos even in difficult conditions, for example, when shooting outdoors at night or under low artificial light, telephoto or macro photography, quick shooting or taking a self-portrait.

Venus Engine II Processor
Venus Engine II Image Processor In addition to the 50% improvement in diagonal resolution achieved with the previous version of the Venus Engine, the new design also improves vertical and horizontal resolution by 10%. In addition, the Venus Engine II digitally corrects telephoto chromatic aberrations and vignetting, which usually cause problems when shooting with an optical lens. The colour enhancement process, which subdivides the conventional 4-axis correction into the more precise 12-axis correction, also results in sharper, brighter images. Finally, the faster processing speed of the Venus Engine II reduces the camera's response time to 0.006 seconds and the shutter time to at least 0.1 seconds. This speed facilitates the process of photographing and makes it more convenient.
HIGH SENSITIVITY mode
Dual image stabilization for clearer, more beautiful shots
Until recently, it was considered an unfortunate inevitability that compact digital cameras often "blur" the image due to hand trembling of the operator. The arrival of Panasonic's LUMIX cameras on the market changed this mindset. By reducing the optical image stabilizer to a size that allows it to be used in compact cameras, Panasonic engineers have revolutionized digital photography. And today, we've taken it even further by adding a new High Sensitivity* shooting mode to the Image Stabilizer, which minimizes image blur when the subject suddenly moves. Blurry shots are a thing of the past - now you have LUMIX! Take advantage of digital photography to capture images of the world around you with incredible clarity, precision and beauty.
Eliminate motion blur caused by subject movement
In most cases, a single MEGA OIS image stabilizer is enough to get clear and sharp photos. However, if you need to photograph small children or pets that are unlikely to pose still, especially in low light, the image may be blurred due to the sudden movement of the subject. The new LUMIX cameras offer a High Sensitivity* mode that captures an image at ISO1600 sensitivity using mixed pixel readout and effectively speeds up the shutter speed. This not only improves image clarity, but also allows you to take sharper, more contrasty photographs of moving subjects in low light without using a flash. The TZ1, equipped with the Venus Engine III, allows manual sensitivity setting up to ISO 800. Thus, you can choose the setting that best suits the shooting conditions and minimizes image blur when the subject moves.
*When using this mode, the resolution is reduced.
