You can programmatically increase ISO up to 1640000 (pulled from ISO 51200). New Nikon EXPEED 5 processor.

"Seven thousandth" from Nikon of the sample of 2017 takes pride of place at the top of the hierarchy of cropped amateur-level DSLRs. Above it in the model range of the Japanese brand is only a serious professional tool Nikon D500, which immodestly borrowed a 20.9 MP matrix without an anti-moire filter. The light sensitivity of the sensor ranges from 100 to 51200 ISO in normal mode and from 50 to an impressive 1640000 ISO in extended.

The fast Expeed 5 processor is responsible for image processing, which also provides the Nikon D7500 with a rate of fire of 8 fps. The autofocus module went to the camera from its predecessor (model D7200) — it has 51 focus points (including 15 cross-type). "Maybe" a DSLR in video shooting — support for recording videos in 4K at a frequency of 30 fps and a bit rate of 144 Mbps is the best confirmation of this. The whale lens in this camera configuration is the universal zoom Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f / 3.5-5.6G ED VR.

Cool amateur SLR camera
30 October 2017
The camera, despite its impressive size and weight, sits comfortably in the hands. The case and controls have dust and water protection, which pleases, since fogs and rains are not uncommon in our area. There is a small but quite powerful built-in retractable flash. The display is large, with a diagonal of 3.2 inches, touch and sensitive, I liked it. I am delighted with the quality of the photos. Even in fully automatic mode, what it does is radically different from the soap dishes that I had before. Auto focus pleases with fast and accurate work, and even in low light it rarely makes mistakes. The auto exposure is also good, as is the white balance. The sensitivity of the matrix allows high-quality shooting at ISO 1600, and in some situations a good result can be obtained at 3200. I do not advise you to go higher, you will be disappointed. I am happy to shoot in RAW and then additionally process the pictures in Lightroom, this format gives a lot of opportunities for working with shadows and highlights. The battery is very capacious, you can shoot in long bursts, the main thing is that there is enough memory card.
At this price, the body could have been metal instead of plastic, but this is more a matter of taste than a serious complaint. The weight is 1100 grams (one lens weighs almost half a kilogram) and the dimensions are sometimes straining. However, as they say, what they fought for and ran into)) Good hardenings with normal optics are never easy, this is an axiom, no matter what marketers say. I also complain about the confused menu, it seems that no one even tried to optimize it for a novice amateur photographer, but this is an amateur camera.
