Ultra-widescreen 21:9 curved monitor for home and professional use. The LG 34UC79G is well-suited for use cases requiring very wide horizontal viewing angles and cinematic video (21:9 ratio is the current cinema standard). However, many games on such a monitor also look great. A 34-inch diagonal (or 86.3 cm) with a resolution of 2560x1080 gives a clear and detailed image, because a pixel density of 82 ppi is enough for this. The monitor is based on a high-quality AH-IPS matrix with a full 24-bit palette and W-LED backlight. Despite the impressive area, the screen demonstrates a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m², a good static contrast ratio of 1000:1 and traditionally high vertical and horizontal viewing angles for IPS matrices (up to 178 degrees). The refresh rate is 144 Hz, there is suppor...t for AMD FreeSync. The claimed response time for the GtG scheme is 5 ms, the average for the BWB scheme is 14 ms, and the maximum can reach 22 ms. This is a lot, but anyway, the screen retains the ability to clearly display fast movement. The monitor is equipped with a detachable stand that tilts 5 degrees forward and 20 degrees back. VESA mount and USB 3.0 are provided. To connect to an image source, there are modern interface connectors Display Port 1.2 and HDMI 2.0.

All  specifications

The South Korean brand LG became the first to show the concept of a widescreen curved monitor to the public (in 2014). And only after a three-year pause, the company rolled out to the masses the gaming model LG 34UC79G, built on the basis of an IPS-matrix with a resolution of 2560x1080 pixels.

Bending — so in moderation!

The 34-inch 21:9 panel is framed by narrow bezels. The radius of its curvature is 3.8 m, as a result of which the screen is not so strongly curved. The picture on the display is displayed in bright and rich colours straight out of the box — the factory calibration of the screen is up to the mark. However some users would like to see a lower level of maximum brightness.

Gamer "chips"

The sharpness of the monitor for gamers can be traced in all aspects. The key useful "chips" are the refresh rate of 144 Hz, low matrix response time (according to the manufacturer — only 1 ms, but this figure can only be achieved with the Motion Blur Reduction function) and wide viewing angles. The model also supports the AMD FreeSync frame rate synchronization function (it only works in conjunction with Radeon video cards), and other gaming “tricks” include the ability to display the sight in the centre of the display and highlight dark scenes.

Developed ergonomics

The stand on which the monitor rests can be adjusted within 12 cm in height. It has an "ear" for fixing cables. Experienced gamers also use it as a headphone hook. A USB 3.0 hub and a set of other interfaces for connecting peripherals or third-party devices (2 HDMI ports, Display Port, audio output) are integrated into the back of the model case. In its niche, LG 34UC79G certainly occupies a leading position, which increases the attractiveness of the model in the eyes of potential buyers.
