an old friend is better than two new ones
The Biostar X370GT7 motherboard is a vivid example of the fact that the flagship of the last generation is better than the brand new mid-range one, such as the Biostar B450GT3. We are talking about the differences between the X370 and B450 chipsets. The latter received only minor improvements over the predecessor B350 (AMD StoreMI Hybrid Virtual Storage), while the X370 is still up there. Only X chipsets allow you to get the most out of overclocking, both automatic XFR and manual, Ryzen processors with the "X" suffix, including the latest 2600X and 2700X. However depending on the batch, a preliminary BIOS update may be required.
Let there be light!
The power subsystem of the Biostar X370GT7 is made according to the 8 + 4 scheme, but we are most likely talking about virtual phases, while the physical phases are half as much, which, however, is also not bad. Field-effect transistors, both on the side (CPU power) and on top (SoC + NB), are covered with aluminium heatsinks with RGB backlighting. The chipset heatsink and the decorative casing of the rear interface panel are also equipped with flashlights.
In the same style
The backlight of the motherboard and other components connected to it is synchronized using Vivid LED DJ technology and is configured through the Racing GT Utility application. For lovers of maximum PC glow, there are two 5050 connectors for additional LED strips. The power and reset buttons for the PC, located directly on the motherboard, deserve special praise.
One vidyuha is good, but two or three are better
There are four RAM slots, with support for overclocking up to 3200 MHz. There are three long PCI-E connectors: two versions 3.0 x16 and one 2.0 x4. This allows you to organize a bunch of two NVIDIA SLI or three AMD CrossFireX video cards. There are six SATA ports, but M.2 for high-speed SSDs up to 3.2 GB / s — only one, but with a cooling cover. There are three video outputs on the rear panel and all are digital (HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI). 7.1-channel audio and gigabit network controller manufactured by Realtek, supplemented with proprietary Biostar software. In general, the Biostar X370GT7 is a solidly equipped AM4 motherboard for fans of overclocking and modding, which so far costs significantly less than the latest Biostar X470GT8.
