The basis of the system is a massive radiator and a pump with a water block, which are connected to each other with the help of several hoses for liquid distillation.
And for active cooling, a pair of 140-mm fans based on hydrodynamic bearings is responsible. A signature feature of the LSS ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 is an additional 40mm fan, which is mounted directly into the water block to provide additional cooling of the near-socket space. The speed of rotation of the pump and fans on the radiators are regulated using PWM technology. Fans can operate in the range from 200 to 1700 rpm, and the pump speed can reach 2000 rpm. And the pump unit itself was made relatively compact so that it does not interfere with the installation of memory modules with massive heat sinks. Such a flexible approach allowed not only to increase the cooling efficiency of the system, but also to minimize the noise level that the LSS emits at peak load on the processor.
