Compact M.2 2280 SSD, which represents the new A-Data Legend product line and goes beyond the mid-range in its capabilities. The drive operates under the control of a modern 4-channel controller, supports the NVMe 1.4 protocol, and uses the technically advanced PCI-E 4.0 interface for data exchange. The linear write speed declared by the manufacturer is 4700 MB/s, the read speed reaches 7000 MB/s, which is two to three times higher than similar solutions with the PCI-E 3.0 interface and tens of times faster than conventional HDD drives. It does not have its own DRAM buffer, but thanks to HMB support and the presence of a dynamic SLC cache, it is able to use a small fragment of system memory as a buffer. And a fairly solid DWPD figure allows you to overwrite 50% of the available memory ever...y day. This is about 500 GB per day. Add solid IOPS performance (note: efficiency with small 4K blocks) and you get a universal drive that will serve equally well in a gaming PC or a work computer for processing

Legend

Legend 900 is a pre-top model of a solid-state drive with a PCIe interface from Adata. Compared to the Legend 960 model, it has lower read and write speeds, but it costs about 3,500 hryvnia, which makes it one of the most interesting SSDs with PCI-E 4.0 support.

4-channel Maxio controller

The drive is controlled by a four-channel Maxio MAP1602 controller with support for NVMe and Host Memory Buffer. Read and write speeds are 7000 MB/s and 4700 MB/s respectively, which matches the requirements of the PlayStation 5. The controller does not overheat, and the removable heatsink effectively cools it. The drive has a five-year warranty and a rewrite resource of around 1000 TB.

HMB instead of SLC cache

Unlike the Legend 960 model, the Legend 900 does not have a DRAM buffer, which can lead to speed drops when the SLC cache is full. However, thanks to modern 232-layer memory from YMTC, the drive maintains high read and write speeds. The speed only drops when the buffer is filled to more than 300 GB, which does not appear during normal loading.
