Xiaomi Redmi 7 32 GB / 3 GB

An example of what a low-cost employee of the 2019 model should be balanced on all fronts. Here you have a large-caliber 6.26-inch diagonal screen with a neat waterdrop notch, and a 12 + 2 MP dual rear camera (an auxiliary module is used to blur the background), and a strong hardware base as part of Qualcomm’s 632 “dragon”, flavored with 3/32 GB of memory. The display of the device displays an image in a resolution of 1520x720 pixels, a protective glass Gorilla Glass 5 is installed on top of it.
The claimed water-repellent coating P2i increases the status of the smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 7 32GB recognizes its owner by his face, using an 8 MP front camera for this, or by a fingerprint. A separate line of brand adherents will be pleased with the fact that the smartphone has retained the invariable attribute of the Redmi series — an infrared port for remote control of equipment. But the NFC chip, alas, is not provided in the equipment of the gadget. A decent battery life of the model is provided by a capacious 4000 mAh battery. Customers are offered three colour options for the body of the device: a business black “suit” and bright “clothes” with gradient tints of the back (blue or red).
Best low-cost smartphone 2019
Xiaomi's Redmi line is aimed primarily at young people who are not ready to pay big money, but at the same time want to get modern chips from a smartphone like a dual camera, a back panel with a gradient colour or fast charging. The new Redmi 7 is such a smartphone. At $120, Redmi actually has one competitor for the title of best low-cost smartphone of 2019 — the Samsung Galaxy A10. Chinese smartphones from less popular brands with a dubious reputation do not count.
Snapdragon 632 + 3GB RAM
For hardware, the picture is as follows: an old Snapdragon 632, Adreno 506 video chip, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in storage with support for memory cards. On the one hand, the equipment is not the most powerful, on the other hand, it is quite in line with the spirit of the times: 3 GB of RAM allows you to run applications in batches and keep a bunch of open tabs in the browser, and the Snapdragon 632 provides decent system speed. After all, this is a mid-level chip rather than a state employee.
Not Full HD
The low-cost of the smartphone is manifested rather in the camera and screen. The dual module snaps good shots during the day in good light, but merges as expected in poor light. Although, compared to other low-cost smartphones, the Redmi 7 camera is impressive. The screen here is quite good: 6.26", IPS, quite natural colour reproduction and a good supply of brightness. But the resolution is only 1520x720 pixels. If you switch to Redmi 7 after a device with a FullHD resolution, then the graininess will immediately catch your eye. Plus, there are traditional MIUI screen settings: a separate reading mode, changing colours, zooming and waking up with a double tap.
Fast charging and fingerprint scanner
The manufacturer also pleased potential buyers with a separate slot for a memory card and two SIM cards, a fingerprint scanner and a durable 4000 mAh battery with fast charging function. But the use of outdated microUSB was a little upsetting, but USB-C is still a rare guest in the low-cost segment. NFC is not here, like most state employees. Therefore, for contactless payments, it is better to look at another model.
