An ultra-zoom with an inch-sized large-caliber sensor that is three times the zoom range of its predecessor. The fixed lens of the Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* camera shoots in the 24-600mm focal length range, and its maximum aperture varies from f/2.4 at the short end to f/4 at the telephoto end. During zooming, a rather sickly “trunk” emerges from the base of the lens. In order to compensate for hand shake and for the sake of gaining up to 4.5 stops of exposure when shooting in low light conditions, the Sony RX10 III is equipped with Steady Shot optical image stabilization. In the reportage genre of photography, the ultrazoom demonstrates a rate of fire of 14 fps. Also, the camera handles with video shooting with a bang, recording videos in 4K with a frame rate of 30 fps, FullHD at 60 fps and S...low Motion 960 fps. The operator is kindly provided with a microphone input and a headphone output. In addition to a 3-inch swivel display, the model is equipped with an OLED viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million dots. The energy reserves in the camera's battery tanks are often enough to "shoot" over 400 shots.

Video reviews

The increase in weight and size went to the third tribe of the Sony RX10 bridge camera purely in favor. Due to 200-plus grams of excess weight, the model has increased the optical zoom ratio from modest 8.3x to quite serious 25x.

Zeiss Breed Optics

The zoom lens of the German breed Zeiss in service with the camera is characterized by coverage of the range of equivalent focal lengths of 24-600 mm and a high aperture of f / 2.4-4.0. It also features a high-performance Steady Shot optical stub, designed to compensate for up to 4.5 stops of exposure when shooting handheld or in low light conditions. In the process of approaching the lens, a sickly “trunk” grows, however, you cannot call the standard superzoom optics a “vacuum cleaner” due to the presence of dust and water protection of the case.

Nimble responsiveness

Inside the model, a 20 MP “inch” matrix is still installed (sensor with physical dimensions of 1 inch). Together with the image sensor, the Sony RX10 III has a DRAM memory chip under the hood. Thanks to this scheme , information from the matrix is read many times faster than usual, which made it possible to implement a shutter speed of 1/32000 s, burst photography at up to 14 fps and 4K video recording with a frame rate of 30 fps.

Image product

As a load , the ultrazoom was equipped with a swivel screen, an OLED viewfinder, an auxiliary information display on the upper end, Wi-Fi and NFC modules for wireless communication with mobile devices. Videographers will appreciate the microphone input and headphone output. The camera can shoot about 400 frames on a single battery charge. The only deterrent from a momentary trip to the store for a camera is an immodest price tag. However, this is a fashion product for those who know a lot about photography and it will always find its audience.
