Digital SLR camera "semi-professional" class, designed primarily for experienced amateur photographers. Carries on board a 12.25-megapixel APS-C format matrix (23.5 x 15.6 mm) with sensitivity up to ISO 6400 and a stabilization system due to shift. The built-in processor provides a burst speed of 3 fps, but video recording is not provided. The optical pentaprism viewfinder is complemented by a 3" 920k-pixel display. Footage can be recorded to CompactFlash or MS Duo cards.

Dust protection system
To combat dust, Sony has created a unique double protection system. This system combines a protective coating on your DSLR's CCD sensor that keeps out dust, and a mechanism that gently shakes the sensor when the camera is turned off to remove any dust trapped in the body.

AF-assist beam
Proper focus and composition is extremely difficult to achieve in low or no light conditions.
