Sea Sonic is one of the few companies that always offers users the most advanced power supplies. It was she who more than a decade ago was one of the first companies to release a power supply with an efficiency above 80%. Since then, it has been strongly associated with enthusiast products — high-quality, reliable, advanced and always quiet even under maximum loads. And the new series of Prime Ultra Gold power supplies does not change these principles at all.
Modern circuitry
The combination of advanced circuitry and high-quality components using well-known Japanese capacitors has resulted in exemplary output performance. So, voltage deviations are much lower than the norms required by the ATX12V standard, and when the load changes, very high stability is observed on the three main power lines.
Case and set of cable ties for storing and managing cables
You can't help but admire the attention to detail. For example, the unit comes with a handy case for storing detachable cables and several ties that make it easier to route cables inside the system unit. The hybrid cooling system is also pleasantly surprising, which allows users to decide for themselves how to control the fan: be active all the time, or switch to semi-passive mode, turning off at light load. In both cases, it practically does not make noise: during the tests, the sound level metre did not rise above 19 dB.
12 year warranty
Despite such a low propeller speed, the heating of the internal components was very negligible. This made it possible to achieve impressive results when operating in overload mode — there is a power margin of 22%. Well, do not forget about the whole 12-year warranty. All things considered, the $170 price tag for a 650-watt model doesn't seem that high anymore.
