Protected compact camera, positioned by the manufacturer as a device for the most simple and stress-free shooting, including Outdoors. A durable sealed case allows the device to dive underwater to a depth of up to 8 m without consequences and endure falls from a height of 1.5 m. The main characteristics largely correspond to the entry level — for example, the video resolution is only 1280x720, but there is no talk of wireless communications. On the other hand, the software part provides a set of original creative tools (in particular, "Advanced underwater mode"), and a lens with a matrix is not inferior to its counterparts.

Does a full frame make a difference? Is it worth buying a full-frame camera?Do I need to spend money on an expensive full frame or is it better to buy a cropped camera?..
Video reviews

The digital soap box in protective gear from the Japanese company Panasonic is aimed at active users who prefer to spend their free time not lying on the couch, but on all kinds of travels or extreme outings into nature.

Gentleman's set

The "baby" with dimensions of 104x58x20 mm and a weight of just over 140 g is resistant to moisture and dust, can shoot underwater, plunging to a depth of 8 m, does not lose performance in frost and withstands falling to the ground from a height of one and a half metres. Those. it provides a complete "gentleman's kit" to protect electronic components from external influences.

Characteristic hardware

With the hardware of the Panasonic DMC-FT30, things are more modest, yet the main emphasis in the compact is on security, and not on advanced photo capabilities. Inside the camera, there is a small sensor typical for a state employees detachment with physical dimensions of 1/2.3" and a resolution of 16.1 MP. Complementing the overall picture is a lens with a 4x optical zoom (25-100mm in full frame equivalent), which is slightly dark — the maximum value of its aperture is rigidly tied to the focal length and "floats" from f / 3.9 at the short end to f /5.7 at the tele zoom position.

Balance of price and quality

The quality of the received images is quite consistent with the democratic cost of the compact — you can count on a good result when shooting in conditions of fairly good lighting. With a decrease in the amount of light in the pictures, noise artifacts begin to actively multiply. However, in the dark, a flash comes to the aid of the photographer with an effective “puff” range of up to 4.4 m. It is also worth bearing in mind that at focal lengths close to the maximum, the edges of the frame often turn out to be blurry.

On the machine

The video on the camera is recorded in HD resolution (1280x720 pixels), and the Mega OIS stabilizer put into service with the compact gives it clarity of movement. But the model does not support photography in the “raw” RAW format, as well as the possibility of setting manual settings when photographing. In return , the manufacturer has introduced a wide range of scene shooting modes and creative filters into the camera. In order to capture moments of outdoor activities, the number of shooting scenarios pre-installed in the Panasonic DMC-FT30 is more than enough.
