With the release of the Nokia 9 PureView smartphone, HMD Global has made a serious claim to success in the mobile photography genre. It's no joke, the rear camera clip in the assets of the device consists of five photographic "eyes", a depth sensor and a flash.

Camera clip

The quintet of photomodules on the back of the smartphone uses 12 MP Sony IMX386 image sensors with fast Zeiss optics (f / 1.8). Two "eyes" form a picture in colour, another trinity — shoots in monochrome. The final image is combined into one clear shot with a wide dynamic range (over 12 stops of exposure, and this, for a moment, is the level of a strong DSLR). Artificial intelligence in the camera's arsenal distinguishes 1200 degrees of depth of field, which allows you to choose the focus point already in the finished picture. But the processing of such an impressive array of data contained in a photograph takes an order of magnitude longer than usual.

"Iron" question

In the "iron" question, Nokia 9 PureView belongs to the genus of flagship mobile devices. Let not the most advanced chip at the time of the announcement run all the processes here, but the power of the 845th "dragon" from Qualcomm does not hold in any usage scenarios. In addition, the smartphone received 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of non-volatile memory (with the possibility of expanding the capacity of the standard storage via a microSD card).

P-OLED matrix

The front panel of the mobile gadget is crowned with a 5.99-inch P-OLED display with rounded edges. The image is displayed on it in the maximum resolution of QuadHD + (2880x1440 pixels). A fingerprint sensor is built right into the screen, and the smartphone also recognizes the owner by the face with the help of a 20 MP front camera.

Additional assets

The model is produced under the auspices of the Android One programme on a “clean” shell under the “green droid” sign. Additional assets of the device include support for fast and wireless charging technologies for a 3320 mAh battery, an NFC chip, and IP67 water protection. On the shelves of stores, the smartphone is presented in a single colour version — dark blue, which, however, looks fresh and unconventional.
