A set of DDR4 RAM, consisting of two paired modules with a volume of 8 GB. Despite the label "memory for overclocking", it has a traditionally favorable ratio for the Polish brand between price, quality and speed. The beauty of the device lies in the use of E-die chips, thanks to which the manufacturer managed to increase the operating frequency of the kit to 3600 MHz, while at the same time reducing latency. Due to the optimal ratio of frequencies, timings and voltages, they will be an excellent option for a well-balanced gaming, multimedia or work system. The GOODRAM IRDM RGB DDR4 2×8Gb kit is based on DDR4 memory chips clocked at 3600 MHz (timings 18-22-22, voltage 1.35 V) and guarantees high throughput up to 28,800 MB/s. The use of high-quality memory chips provides a small backlog for...manual or automatic overclocking. To make the process go smoothly, the memory chips and the control controller were covered with a thick and reliable heat sink, which, for greater beauty, was decorated with a backlight from above. Illumination supports dynamic effects and is friendly with all popular synchronization systems from Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and other brands. IRDM memory performance has been tested with AMD Ryzen and Intel Core chip-based configurations released between 2014 and 2021.

Made in Europe

Goodram IRDM RGB DDR4 is the first Polish brand RAM with LED backlight. Fortunately, with the addition of RGB-decor, the manufacturer did not save on memory chips. The latest Micron E-dies are used, made according to the 19-nanometer process technology (memory transistors are traditionally larger than those of processors).

Frequencies are higher, timings are lower

There is no choice of the number of modules, volume and frequency yet — only a paired set of 2x8 GB at 3600 MHz is available. But low timings (delays) are definitely pleasing: CL18-22-22-22-36. Especially the last timing, which is usually worse than 38 – 42 even for a lower-frequency 3200 MHz RAM. And all this is started by pressing a single XMP button in the BIOS settings menu.

Conquest of a new height

What's more, the memory showed excellent potential for manual overclocking. After increasing the supply voltage from 1.35 to 1.45 V, with a high probability (after all, overclocking is always a lottery), it will be possible to reach the 4000 MHz mark with almost the same timings CL18-20-20-42. The supply voltage, of course, is already on the verge of overheating, but thick-walled metal radiators are useful for this.

For Intel and AMD

The increase in throughput after overclocking Goodram IRDM RGB DDR4 will be most noticeable in the case of Ryzen APUs with integrated Vega graphics. But on the Intel Core, performance will also noticeably increase. Especially on the 10th generation, which, unlike 11 and 12, can run memory at a frequency of 4000+ MHz in synchronous 1:1 bus mode. Fans of snow-white PC builds will probably like IRDM Pro Hollow White more.
