Reincarnation of a legend

In the winter of 2020, the Swedish manufacturer released the 7th version of the critically acclaimed Define case. According to the manufacturer, this flagship model strikes the perfect balance between silence and style. Elegant lines allow the case to fit seamlessly into home or work environments without sacrificing quality, performance or functionality. On our own, we add that it is a pleasure to assemble a computer in such a case, everything is so thought out, convenient.

A case that is friendly with E-ATX motherboards

Compared to the Define 6, the exterior of the case has not changed much. It's still the same white box from which Scandinavian minimalism literally blows. It looks most interesting when disassembled or with the lid open, when the white-painted chassis, patterned grilles and white fans open up to the eye. The whole point of improvements comes down to improving ergonomics and increasing functionality. For example, the location of places for installing additional fans has changed, a USB-C port has appeared on the dashboard, and an E-ATX motherboard is placed in the case itself.

Modular design

Like its predecessor, Define 7 has a modular design that makes it equally easy to implement massive air or liquid cooling, organize a RAID array from a pack of drives. At the same time, there will be room for one or two video cards inside (with the possibility of vertical installation), and the components will be at the right distance from each other so that air can circulate freely inside the case and the hardware does not suffer from overheating. Plus, Define 7 has a PWM controller to control the speed of stock coolers, removable side panels with latches, and a trio of stock Dynamic X2 coolers. By the way, this is one of the few cases that supports the installation of video cards up to 491 mm long.

Far from the cheapest pleasure

Otherwise, it is a large, comfortable and practical case, in which everything is done nicely and neatly, and the only drawback is the price. Not everyone can afford to pay $300 for a case.
