How to Choose a Gaming MonitorWe understand matrix types, suitable resolution, FreeSync and other important aspects when choosing a gaming monitor
Model overview based on user reviews
The Xiaomi Mi Surface Display 34 is a gaming monitor that offers a 34-inch curved VA panel with a resolution of 3440x1440 and a refresh rate of 144Hz, providing an immersive experience with its 21:9 aspect ratio. Users appreciate its stylish design, high resolution, and excellent color reproduction. The monitor is praised for its value for money, especially when compared to competitors. However, some users have noted issues with the bright LED indicator, FreeSync flickering, and menu navigation buttons. The build quality is considered decent, though some feel the plastic feels cheap. While the monitor is suitable for gaming, some users experienced motion blur in videos and found the VESA mount design inconvenient. Overall, it is recommended for those seeking a budget-friendly ultrawide monitor with good performance, though potential buyers should be aware of the price fluctuations and consider purchasing a DP 1.4 cable for optimal performance.

The monitor is quite good for me, although not perfect
13 December 2023
I've been using it for over a year primarily for work and gaming, occasionally watching content. The monitor is more than suitable for this: high frame rate with FreeSync support allows you to play anything without image problems, except for some slight blurring when you do a 360 spin. Horizon, Elden Ring, The Riftbreaker, Hogwarts Legacy, and many other games were completed on it with immense pleasure.

Regarding work - I wanted to use it in Picture By Picture (PBP) mode - connecting two cables from the video card to the monitor and displaying half of the monitor as a separate screen. There were some difficulties with this - you need to manually choose the correct mode in the video adapter driver settings (1720x1440, 50Hz). It's not convenient, but I can't say whether it's the monitor's fault or Windows. Anyway, I just pin the windows in a 2:1 ratio and have an even better experience.

I got it as a replacement for two 24" monitors - it worked incredibly well. Takes up less space, accommodates more text thanks to the 1440p expansion, and the image simply looks great on it.

If you're watching content or playing in 16:9 format, it works like a 27" monitor with the same 144Hz, which is really cool.

Ergonomics are fine. The native stand allows quite a range of motion for the monitor, and the height adjustment is sufficient for everyone.

It's a pity there's no USB hub and speakers.

An unexpected plus is the design - it looks quite elegant, simple, and will fit into any interior.

I don't recommend taking it, it's not worth 30k with such problems, this is not a single case.

Translated text: Brought everything today at the beginning, 5 minutes of checking, everything was fine, but when I started checking it was at 50Hz, set to 144 and it started flickering and artifacts appeared. Refused the purchase. Also was cautious because the box was opened when delivered.
Colors of the image and resolution size
At 100-144Hz, artifacts, flickering, and trails appeared during testing. I couldn't play, but I think this will negatively impact performance.

Worth taking, but there are some nuances, more details in the comments

I work as a programmer and got this monitor as an alternative to using two monitors. Additionally, it has very good specifications. I spend 95% of my time on Linux, and it's fairly easy to set things up properly even there. Working on it is just fantastic; I can have a browser on one half of the screen and an IDE on the other. Sometimes I play games, and the experience is superb. Unfortunately, in some games, the screen doesn't expand to the sides for a 21:9 aspect ratio and gets cropped at the top and bottom (from the default 16:9), like in Overwatch. Unfortunately, my GTX 1070 doesn't quite allow me to fully enjoy 144Hz in modern single-player games at 2K resolution. However, either my eyes quickly adapted or I just don't notice, but I didn't feel much difference between 60Hz and 144Hz (tested in Overwatch). Also, my desk is not suitable for a monitor of this size, and my eyes and back often hurt. I didn't notice this with my old 23" AOC.

My opinion about the product itself: It’s a solid device with almost no complaints. However, today I wouldn't get such a monitor, and it's not about the product itself but rather the large screen size and dimensions. As they say, I couldn’t stop in time.
Huge screen size and 2K (or almost 2K)
Refresh rate 144Hz
Excellent stand with the ability to adjust the monitor tilt angle both vertically and horizontally
In the first month after purchase, the monitor sometimes went out for a few seconds, then turned on again. However, this drawback somehow went away on its own.
