The device belongs to the phablet family. However behind the thin bezels around the display, it is not immediately possible to recognize its huge diagonal, equal to 6". Gadgets of this kind, including directly Sony Xperia XA Ultra Dual, best of all is given to playing multimedia content and surfing the Internet. For resource-intensive games, the MediaTek Helio P10 chip is less suitable.
The real pride of the smartphone is a fast 16 MP selfie camera with flash, fast autofocus and optical image stabilizer. Even the main camera with a resolution of 21.5 MP does not have the latter, which clearly hints at the priority in shooting self-portraits. But the built-in memory for storing footage and other user data provided only 16 GB. Fortunately, the storage volume can be increased by installing a microSD flash drive (up to 200 GB). Against the backdrop of gigantic screen sizes, the smartphone's battery turned out to be not the most capacious — 2700 mAh lasts for 3 hours in games or 9 hours when playing videos.
The minimal side frames around the screen of a smartphone from Sony do not immediately give out huge dimensions in it. With a 6-inch diagonal display, the width of the device is only a millimetre larger than Apple's flagship phones with a 5.5-inch screen (iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7 Plus). The frameless design makes it much easier to control the gadget with one hand.
Multimedia
Games and applications are launched by the phablet with a bang, although the MediaTek Helio P10 processor does not always pull out heavy programs at maximum graphics settings. There is nothing surprising in this, because. the gadget is more focused on playing multimedia files (watching movies, TV shows, online videos, etc.).
FullHD display
The high-quality FullHD screen of the phablet has a wide range of brightness adjustment, which is more than enough for comfortable reading in a dark room before going to bed, and for the possibility of using a smartphone in bright sunlight. The colour scheme of the display traditionally for Sony phones gives a little blue.
Selfie camera
The front panel of the gadget attracts attention because of the huge “eye” of the front camera, next to which is the flash. The pleasant features of the selfie module do not end there, because all the most interesting is hidden inside — a large sensor (1 / 2.6 "), high aperture (f / 2.0), advanced autofocus and an optical image stabilization system are a clear confirmation of this. The stub helps not only to secure pictures from possible blurring, but also contributes to video shooting, which will undoubtedly please video bloggers.
Memory
For some reason, the main camera turned out to be less aperture (f / 2.2) and lacked optical stabilization. But she is proud of her matrix with an impressive resolution of 21.5 MP. Photos and videos can be stored either in the phone's built-in memory (of the total 16 GB, about 10 GB are available to the user) or on a memory card, for which there is a separate slot.
energy saving
Given the focus of the smartphone on the multimedia segment, the capacity of its battery, which is 2700 mAh, looks rather strange. With active gaming, the battery will go to zero in just 3 hours, and when reading it will last for 12 hours. Phablet owners are encouraged to use efficient energy-saving algorithms or purchase an external battery.
