good model, liked it
1 February 2016
I was choosing a camera for active travels. I was afraid to go for a classic DSLR (with a swinging mirror), while here, there's an interesting technology of a stationary translucent mirror. Plus, I've always trusted Sony; they make great tech.
Good pictures are achieved in automatic and semi-automatic modes. And if the automation misses, you can always adjust the RAW file. If you start taking manual settings seriously, you begin to understand how extensive the camera's capabilities are. With the 18-135mm lens, sharpness is achieved instantly. I photographed my son playing football and appreciated the focus work. At the football match, the burst shooting mode, special “mode 12,” and continuous autofocus were useful. In this mode, the camera takes 12 full-frame shots per second, and autofocus tracks a pre-selected object. This combination is perfect for photographing sports events. I never thought that such shots could be taken with an amateur camera. It also shoots full HD video at 60 frames per second. The screen at the back is excellent, and its mounting and swivel system is simply superb. It rotates 360 degrees, allowing you to shoot from absolutely any angle; my wife took selfies. The auxiliary screen on the top edge of the body is also useful. It has moisture and dust protection. I’ve already been caught in a couple of downpours, and the camera survived without problems.
There's quite a bit of noise in the image at high sensor sensitivity. I expected more battery life.
