The PCCooler YK1000 is the most affordable 1000W power supply unit that meets the latest ATX 3.1 standard, priced around $100. It costs less than many 750W counterparts, let alone 850W models. Thus, the use of a non-modular design and 80 PLUS Bronze certification can be considered a reasonable compromise. Moreover, the actual efficiency at low and medium load is closer to the 80 PLUS Silver level.

Taiwanese Capacitor

The circuitry is based on modern Active PFC and DC to DC solutions, which is expected for a unit of such power, as old group stabilization would be inappropriate here. It is stated that the device operates at an input voltage from 200 to 240V (in practice, the range is slightly wider). The main capacitor is manufactured by Ltec (Taiwan) and is rated for 85 degrees Celsius, with cooling provided by a Power Year fan with a hydraulic bearing HYB.

Thickened Cable

All cables are made as flat, soft ribbons, which makes it easier to lay them behind the back of the case. Most wires have a standard gauge of 18AWG, but the 12V-2x6 cable for the graphics card is reinforced — 16AWG (a smaller value means a larger gauge). Four 6+2-pin connectors are also provided, suitable for Radeon RX 9000 XT graphics cards, as AMD continues to use proven solutions.
