As for me—as an average user who isn't immersed in high-tech—it9;s an extremely cool phone.
25 July 2024
This time, I needed not only a rugged smartphone but also one with a super-durable battery. An essential requirement was the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which manufacturers are increasingly getting rid of (damn them!). To avoid premature moral aging, a requirement to have Android version 13 or 14 was added to the filters. The 14th version was immediately ruled out, as there were no durable models with a capacity over 6000 mAh - and we all know that if you disregard the marketing tricks about the latest "reduced energy consumption" in the new Android, the actual "power consumption" only increases. Various completely unknown manufacturers were also ruled out. The price cap was set at 10,000 UAH.
Thus, a quarter of a hundred models remained in the filters, 25% of which were already morally outdated with 4-6 GB of RAM and a price difference of 1500-2500 UAH from the "top" models. Comparing all the other models, you realize that for approximately the same price, you get either 10,000 mAh or 22,000 mAh, with the only question being the phone's weight and ergonomics. Since I am not a small guy, weight doesn't matter to me - the choice is obvious. Hence, we have two finalists: Oukitel WP19pro and UleFone Armor 24. Both are monsters weighing more than half a kilo with nuclear battery life. Although the first phone has less RAM (8 GB versus 12) and slower charging (33W versus 66W), it has a slightly better processor, video adapter, and cameras, is slightly lighter, slightly smaller, and most importantly - costs 1,000 UAH less and fits within 10K UAH. Charging time is 3-5 hours.
for me, it's sufficient, I don't plan on using too many apps simultaneously, so performance depends more on the processor than on RAM. Slightly miss a LED, but it's not critical. So I chose the 19Pro. The next morning, I received the device at Nova. What can I say? It's truly a massive brick. I haven't felt this way about a phone since almost a quarter of a century ago when my father brought home the first mobile phone in our family – a Nokia 6185i. However, it's truly a BEAST: sturdy, monolithic, reliable, fast, and powerful – real masculine high-tech – Billy Herrington approves!!! After 2.5 days of intensive use (YouTube minimized in the background, some Japanese crosswords, messengers, calls, Duolingo, pedometer) and 5 days overall, the battery only dropped by 55% - from 99% to 44%. Just what you need during constant "electro-nourishment" outages, so I'll give the power bank to relatives. I'm already used to the weight and don't feel any discomfort – on the contrary, my old "veteran" seems too small and light.
Who can I recommend this device to?
First of all, to big athletes – ergonomics are not a highlight of this phone.
Secondly, to homebodies or those who don't mind an extra half-kilo in their bag or backpack – the phone is by no means pocket-sized.
Thirdly, to all who demand autonomy – drivers, truckers, travelers, road builders, and those who work far from civilization or stay without power sources for extended periods – 256 gigs of native memory are enough for entertainment.
(for example, I have enough space for my entire curated MP3 music library, and there will still be room for a good hundred audiobooks), you can even slowly charge another phone or wireless headphones from the device - the main thing is to have the necessary ports or adapters - like if needed, I can recharge my e-book. Don't want to hassle with wireless headphones – there's always the option to plug in wired "mini-jack" ones.
For everyone else, the device will be unjustifiably heavy, too large, and inconvenient, more attractive models with batteries ranging from 8000 to 10000 mAh will seem more appealing.
