Chinese vs Global Smartphone Versions: What’s the Difference? We'll explore the dangers of skimping on a Chinese smartphone and whether it makes sense.
this is the best I've ever had.
1 August 2021
Hello everyone, I've been using it for two years, decided to change, watched a ton of reviews and I would be ready to get a smartphone for 100k rubles, but after considering everything, I realize that my smartphone is cooler than all of them. People complain about Samsung's battery and glitches, Xiaomi's software is bad, and mine even has 89% battery health after two years))) Believe me, I use it relentlessly every day since my work is on the phone. It doesn't give me any reason to change it at all, no glitches, runs all software, everything is fast, though they do update it constantly))) I highly recommend it.

This model is a cut-down 1+ 7pro, excelling only in size and battery life.

Bought in November '19 on Ali for $400 (at that time ≈25 thousand rubles). For that money, there were simply no competitors (except maybe the Mi 9T Pro). Got a mid-range device at the price of a budget Huawei.
- Lightning-fast interface
- Minimal glitches, it doesn't lag at all
- Excellent hardware
- Bright screen
- Great user experience
For the price I paid, it's a sin to look for flaws, but I can highlight:
- the screen is not 90Hz
- no pop-up front camera (the notch is nice, but I rarely indulge in selfies; specifically for me, a pop-up would have been better)

A quality product that is pleasant to show to people when you take it out of your pocket

Great phone for the money. I planned to take the Xiaomi K20 Pro, but I took a one-off 7) I looked through a bunch of reviews, held both phones in my hand. I really liked the screen in VanPlace 7. Nice colors, picture saturation, very deep blacks. Plus, the manufacturer put a film on the screen, I’ve been using it for a month now, and it’s like new. When you take out the memory card, you immediately understand that this is a premium device. The plug is not just rubberized, it has a built-in valve that holds back the water. The phone came with a trigger, which was very nice. The back cover is glossy, it gets matted quite quickly, but is quickly wiped off. Apparently there is some kind of coating. The surprise was the support for all LTE standards that work in the CIS countries. The phone charges very quickly and holds a charge for a long time, at the end of the day there is 30-40% left, with very active use, if used less often, then 50-60%. There is very fast memory of the UFS 3.1 standard, and you feel it in any application, even on your desktop, when everything flies as if it reads your thoughts. The fingerprint scanner is very fast, and it also instantly unlocks your face. The sound from the speakers is pleasant, rich, loud. The camera was a little disappointing, I thought there would be more details, but it’s better than the K20, so I think it’s a good choice. The phone can be connected to a TV or monitor, and play games on the big screen) The software is also very stable, no crutches, sticking or bugs - everything is very clear. I think this phone is the best for the money.
Fast UFS 3.1 memory. Camera with optical stabilization. High quality display. Capacious battery. It charges very quickly, in 50-60 minutes. High-quality and loud sound from the speakers. There is a trigger included. All games fly like crazy, without a single hint of brakes.
The camera is mediocre, lacks sharpness + slightly blurs details around the edges. But at night it takes pictures well, despite all the soap - the picture is bright and correct. The lens probably has a good aperture.

Junior Flagship Assassin

The OnePlus division of BBK Corporation has gained fame thanks to its flagship smartphones with a low price. However from generation to generation they only became more expensive. In 2019, the manufacturer decided to “go back to basics” by releasing two versions of the smartphone: OnePlus 7 Pro, stuffed with the very best, and a somewhat simplified and affordable version of OnePlus 7. We’ll talk about the latter.

Repetition of the past

Externally, the smartphone is very similar to its predecessor OnePlus 6T. It will receive a glass body, a widescreen display with a teardrop notch on top and a dual main camera. Among the most notable differences, we highlight the thinner bezels around the display, the location of the LED flash, the flagship Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor and 12 GB of RAM. The hardware here is similar to the Pro version, and for many, such power will even be redundant.

AMOLED screen with QHD resolution

As is tradition, at the time of the release of the new OnePlus, it has one of the best screens on the market. We are talking about a giant 6.4-inch AMOLED-matrix manufactured by Samsung and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and a resolution of 2340x1080. From a purely subjective point of view, the screen is equally impressive both in static (for example, when viewing an Instagram feed) and in dynamics while playing a dynamic fighting game like Injustice 2. It’s no wonder that the OnePlus 7 display received the highest rating from DisplayMate specialists.

Top 48MP Dual Camera

The main optics are dual, using a 48 MP sensor with f / 1.7 aperture, as well as an auxiliary module that helps to simulate the bokeh effect. Compared to the sixth version of One Plus, the new camera has a great Auto HDR mode, and digital zoom when shooting video (now there is stabilization). In general, the quality of shooting and the speed of the camera have increased — this is still the same near-top level, which is quite a bit behind the recognized camera phones like Huawei Mate 20 Pro 128 GB and Samsung Galaxy S10 128 GB.

Fast and clear under-screen scanner

A 4000 mAh battery will be responsible for the battery life of the device, which, depending on the intensity of use, can give one and a half to two days of work on a single charge. The list of additional features is impressive, you don’t expect anything else from a flagship smartphone: an NFC chip, transmission of aptX HD audio codecs, fast charging, a metal and glass case, and a fingerprint scanner. It turned out to be nimble and not prone to false positives, although in terms of speed it is still slightly inferior in speed to conventional scanners.

Evolution, not revolution

Considering the price of $600, it looks like a good, but never revolutionary smartphone, which is doomed to constant comparisons with the OnePlus 7 Pro. The thing is that the Pro received a lot of interesting updates and at the beginning of autumn is one of the most interesting smartphones of the spring, while the regular OnePlus 7 has become only an improved version of last year's model.
