Monitor Audio Bronze 5

The Monitor Audio Bronze 5 speaker system will suit users who are looking for Hi-Fi acoustics with a reasonable price-performance ratio. The British manufacturer estimated the quality of Bronze 5 at about $900 and did not lose. The system has been in great demand since 2015.

Compact design

The speakers please with their small dimensions of 85x16.5x24.8 cm, thanks to which they can be installed in any room without violating the aesthetics of the interior. MDF cabinets with a beautiful woodgrain vinyl texture are available in white ash, black oak, walnut or mahogany. For floor mounting, a special anti- resonance stand with legs is provided, with the help of which the speaker becomes stable. Protective grills cover only the upper half of the front panel and are attached with magnets.

New level of comfort

Acoustics is equipped with two 140 mm speakers, one of which is low-frequency from 37 Hz, and the second is a combined mid/high frequency. Both drivers work in compartments isolated from each other with a bass-reflex design. The mid-woofer port is directed back, the woofer port is forward. The ports are made using HiVeII technology, in which a longitudinally threaded flare reduces airflow turbulence. The region of high frequencies from 2.8 kHz is voiced by a tweeter with a golden 25-mm dome Gold Dome.

All this provides good sound detail, especially in the mid/high ranges, which allows you to build a wide and contrasting scene. The middle sounds smooth and clear, the basses are collected, and the tops are bright and transparent without obvious sibilants. In general, the sound can be called close to neutral, but if you really find fault, you can notice a slight dissonance in the dynamic transitions between the mid/high bands.

The system supports two -cable Bi-Wiring/Amping connection, a terminal board with two pairs of gold-plated screw connectors is traditionally located on the rear panel of the case, and to pump the sound to the fullest, you need a small amplifier with a power of 120 watts per channel.

Despite the low-cost class, Monitor Audio Bronze 5 looks and sounds at a very decent level. Those who will not have enough should take a closer look at the next model of the line — Bronze 6. True, you will have to pay almost $ 200 more for it.
