Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita LS1040 miter saw is highly regarded for its reliable and precise factory tuning, making it ideal for carpentry tasks like door installations and trimming baseboards. Users appreciate its massive construction and high-quality disc, which ensures clean cuts without chipping. The saw includes a dust collection bag that effectively collects a significant portion of sawdust. However, it lacks features such as a laser sight, working area lighting, and a soft-start function, which some users find necessary. Despite these drawbacks, the saw is praised for its functional design and ease of use, especially for beginners. The LS1040F variant includes a light, which, while not essential, is a helpful addition. Users note that the saw's construction could be more rigid, and the motor could be quieter. Overall, the Makita LS1040 is considered a high-quality, cost-effective tool that pays for itself quickly, making it a worthwhile investment for serious work.

This is one of the best and most affordable miter saws for carpentry. Ideal for door installations and trimming baseboards up to 12 cm high. (Though you have to trim from the side rather than from the top). You can improve the saw by installing a soft start module ordered in Moscow and also adding a shadow guide (there are video guides on YouTube). I bought it on credit and did not regret it one bit - it paid for itself in the first month and did not disappoint, it is very comfortable for me as a beginner to work with it (I got used to marking without a laser and shadow guide by slightly touching the disk at operating speed). It cannot handle large workpieces as it has no sliding feature, but because of this, there are no wobbles! All those Zubr and others sit on the sidelines! If you're getting it for work, keep in mind that this saw practically won't fit into any bag, you need a car. Ideal precise factory tuning Reliable massive construction (with a convenient handle for transportation) Very high-quality disc included! Does not chip the edge! (I've been working with it for the second year without complaints) Convenient angle adjustment and a quality base without flatness errors! Includes a dust collection bag (collects about 60-70% of the sawdust) Pays for itself in 1-2 side jobs ;) Absence of laser sighting Absence of working area lighting Absence of soft-start feature (be very careful with this, you need to get used to it) Absence of plastic legs under the saw (you have to place it on a cloth, cardboard, or anything available) |
