The 15ECE model is one of three representatives of the premium PF (Performance) series of the Japanese manufacturer Ibanez, introduced by him in January 2016. The instrument shows all the advantages of the dreadnought acoustic design. Combining rich tone and bright attack, the 15ECE has become one of the most popular acoustic-electric guitars for players looking for reliable, predictable sound and playability.
Appearance
The body of the guitar is assembled from solid woods (mahogany on the sides and back, spruce on the top). A combination proven by practice and time, which provides high-quality dense sound with a predominance of cutting highs.
A plastic protective pad (pickguard) reliably protects the lower part of the case under the socket from damage and abrasions left by a hand or a pick. The edging of the case is made in ivory. The neck is traditional maple with a rosewood fingerboard and dotted fret markers.
Electronics and mechanics
The proprietary AEQ200T preamp handles the electrical side of the sound, and the built-in battery-powered 7-segment LED tuner eliminates the need for a guitar to tune. By the way, the tool keeps the system perfectly, largely due to branded cast tuning pegs. But the piezoelectric sensor may seem to someone weak in power, which, however, is easily compensated by adding volume on the amplifier.
The active tone block, containing volume, tone and digital tuner controls, is traditionally conveniently located on the sidewall closer to the place where the neck is attached to the body.
The model is available in 3 colours: Natural, Black and Blue with High gloss body coating (high-gloss lacquer). Additionally, you can purchase a branded case / case, which, unfortunately, is not included in the basic package. It is also advisable to change the strings for those that are more accustomed to, since not everyone will like the kit installed from the factory: the sound of the strings is low-cost.
