Huawei Flagship Quality at an Affordable Price

Huawei's Nova series is an attempt to build bridges between the P20 flagship smartphone and the near-flagship Honor 10. A kind of Tottenham among smartphones. The Nova 3i is built from glass and metal, knows a couple of tricks from its older brothers, and features two AI-enabled dual cameras. And at the same time it costs 2 times less than the top-end Huawei P20.

AI-enabled processor

Like all new Huawei smartphones, Nova 3i is based on the proprietary Kirin 710 processor. Its feature is a separate “smart” image processing unit that helps to better recognize the scene for photography and set the optimal shooting parameters.

In terms of power, Kirin 710 is a direct competitor to the processor of the new near-top Snapdragon 710 and shows similar results in synthetic tests. Kirin 710 includes four powerful cores at 2.2GHz and four smaller cores at 1.7GHz. The power reserve, although not the maximum, but more than serious.

High performance in games

The Nova 3i really kicks ass when it comes to gaming. Huawei claims that the power of the Mali-G51 GPU has increased by 130% compared to the 2017 models. At the same time, an additional 50% of the power is promised by GPU Turbo technology, which optimizes graphics processing using AI. This is definitely worth paying attention to fans of "tanks" and other heavy toys.

Large and detailed display

As for the screen, the Nova 3i has a large 6.3-inch display (2340x1080 pixels), which can be a barrier for those who don't like too big smartphones. From past Huawei models (and, of course, the iPhone X), the smartphone got a notch cutout.

Dual selfie camera

And don't forget the dual cameras. The main and front cameras have two modules each. The first camera consists of a 16 MP main module and a 2 MP secondary module for blurring the background. The front camera is also dual at 24 MP + 2 MP, which is a rarity for smartphones of this class. When it comes to selfies, the Nova 3i performs very well.
