Stylish and Compact
With the 260 G3 DM model, HP managed to create a quite attractive computer that very much resembles a gaming console. It can either hide under the desk or serve as a stand for a monitor. In the latter case, a small stand is used to hold the case in a vertical position. The case itself weighs just over a kilogram, making it easy to move from place to place and use in various scenarios, from a home desktop computer to servicing digital signage.
Quad-thread Energy-efficient Processor
In this configuration, the 260 G3 DM is equipped with a dual-core, quad-thread Core i3 seventh-generation processor, which operates at a fixed clock frequency of 2.7 GHz. While on paper the processor isn't the most powerful, it's more suited for working with documents, tests, web surfing, or multimedia consumption. However, the chip is cool and energy-efficient, so the hardware doesn’t overheat in the tiny space of the case.
4 GB RAM with Expandability
In terms of memory, we have 4 GB of RAM. For budget computers, this is decent equipment, but there are a few twists. First of all, the motherboard allows for an additional 4 GB RAM stick to be installed, reaching a reasonable 8 GB. Alternatively, both the old and new sticks can be replaced, allowing up to 32 GB. As for storage, a standard 500 GB HDD is used. If you want to boost performance, an additional M.2 SSD can be installed.
Keyboard and Mouse Included
Included are a keyboard, a mouse, and a set featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so no additional manipulation is required—just connect the power and you can work. Moreover, the computer can be turned on directly from the keyboard. Concerning wireless interfaces, the Bluetooth receiver is of the previous fourth version, but the Wi-Fi is modern—“fifth” class 802.11ac. And a Kensington lock slot adds some security.
