At CES 2024, Gigabyte unveiled its updated AORUS series, including the AORUS 16X 9SG, which is a more affordable option for the flagship laptop. It uses the same platform as the older model, but with slightly lower performance. Instead of the Core i9, the AORUS 16X has a powerful 20-core Core i7 13650HX processor. Also, instead of the GeForce RTX 4080, it uses the GeForce RTX 4070 with a high TDP of 140W and support for DLSS 3 and frame generation. The laptop is equipped with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a fast 1024GB SSD with PCI-E 4.0 support.

Intelligent performance and cooling management system

The laptop is not only powerful, but also comes with advanced features. Integration with Microsoft Azure AI allows the system to control the fans and optimize power consumption depending on the recognized gaming profiles. Under light load, the laptop uses the battery efficiently, and the coolers work almost silently. However, under intense loads, the cooling system becomes quite noisy. It is also worth noting the backlight, which can project the AORUS logo on the wall. The laptop's screen has a resolution of 2560x1600, a response time of 3ms and a refresh rate of 165Hz, and the color rendering meets Pantone standards.

Modern equipment

The AORUS 16X 9SG is built on the same chassis as the older model and is equipped with modern ports and features. There is HDMI 2.1, USB4 with Thunderbolt 4, a card reader, powerful charging with Power Delivery, a 3D face scanner, and an advanced wireless module with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The built-in speakers support Dolby Atmos, and the keyboard allows you to customize macros and three-zone RGB lighting via the Control Center software. Despite the 27 mm thick case, the cooling system copes with heating, ensuring stable operation.
