Deepcool Lucifer V2 (DPGS-MCH6N-LC V2)
Videos 2Photos 16 | Outdated Product Powerful and quiet CPU cooler with a traditional U-shaped layout of six heatpipes and a long-lasting 140mm fan that can be controlled. Equipped with a large aluminium heatsink capable of dissipating a significant amount of heat with relatively little airflow. The total height of the cooler is 168 mm, so it can be easily installed in MiniTower and MiddleTower cases with a width of 185 mm or more. Positioned as a mid-range product aimed at users who want an efficient and quiet CPU cooler. It will be an excellent replacement for the standard (boxed) cooling system on motherboards with Intel LGA20XX/LGA1366/LGA115X/LGA775 and AMD AM3(+)/AM2(+)/FM2+/FM2/FM1 processor sockets. Compatibility with the AMD AM4 socket is only guaranteed if the package contains the "AM4 Ready" sticker. The Deepcool L...ucifer V2 CPU cooler can handle heat dissipation from AMD processors with a TDP of 125W and Intel CPUs that emit up to 130W of heat. The system for attaching the device to the motherboard involves the use of a special reinforcing plate, which requires full access to the back of the board. The speed of rotation of the complete fan with a durable hydrodynamic bearing is regulated by the motherboard using the PWM method (ranging from 300 to 1400 rpm). At low CPU load, the speed does not exceed 700 rpm, which makes the cooler silent. |

Return of Lucifer
Many of Deepcool brand cooling systems deservedly bear the official status of "people's" due to the good combination of price and performance. Moreover, they manage to compete not only in the price segment in which the product is presented, but also act as a worthy alternative to expensive solutions. A great example of this is Deepcool Lucifer V2. This is the second version of the popular tower cooler with a telling name, an impressive level of efficiency and a modest $60 price by supercooler standards.
Passive operation mode with thermal package up to 130 W
Deepcool Lucifer V2's high cooling efficiency is ensured by 6 6mm copper heatpipes, aluminium fin heatsink, and a 140mm PWM fan. In passive mode, it can cool Intel and AMD processors with TDP up to 130W. Together with the fan, the cooling capacity of the cooler increases to 300W. And this is already a transition to the big leagues and work with the expectation of overclocking powerful multi-core CPUs. At the same time, the fan speed is adjustable in the range of 300 – 1400 rpm, and the maximum noise level does not exceed 31 dB.
Good but not perfect
Unfortunately, there were some downsides. According to the manufacturer, the heat pipes of the cooler are curved and do not interfere with the free installation of RAM modules. In fact, with a turntable connected, Lucifer looms menacingly over part of the RAM slots, limiting the choice between two RAM sticks of any height, or four low-profile ones, up to 27 mm high. For installation, you need a rather long screwdriver, which is not included in the kit. Also, when buying, be sure to pay attention to the support for the required processor socket. Socket AM4 versions of the cooler for Ryzen processors must have an "AM4 Ready" sticker. In all other respects, this is a rather strong and interesting cooler, which attracts with its low price and passive mode of operation.
