The AGI AI198 is a low cost M.2 NVMe SSD with approximately four times the speed of SATA at 2100MB/s read and 1700MB/s write. Comes with a metal heatsink in case the motherboard doesn't have one. But even without a cooler, it heats up slightly, so it can also be installed in laptops.
The heart of the drive is a smart Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller with an integrated RAM buffer. Of particular interest is its virtual SLC caching algorithm. The first third of the free disk space is written at maximum speed. The second third - the write speed is reduced by a factor of three, and the last third - by a factor of four.
Further, the disk needs time to rest in order to restore the initial speed. This is due to the nature of 3D TLC flash memory and only happens if a very large amount of data is written at once. In addition, TLC is many times more durable than QLC, which is now used in most other low-cost M.2 SSDs.
