Walking down the street, I decided I wanted to buy TWS, went into Citrus, and picked these up. I didn't read reviews online or watch reviews. I've been using them for over six months, not every day, but quite often. Soundwise: not the best detail, too much bass, like cheap JBL earbuds, but overall the sound isn't repulsive, and you can even enjoy it. The volume is great (if you choose the right size ear tips), I only set it to maximum when I'm on the subway, and not every time. The battery life is excellent, both the case and the earbuds. The earbuds have never run out completely, and I've charged the case infrequently the whole time I've owned it. I got the blue ones, but the white and pink ones are cool too. The glossy surface of the earbuds quickly collects fingerprints, but they're easy to wipe off. They connect to the phone quickly and generally without complaints, but sometimes one earbud seems to stutter. Especially in crowded places. I blame it on my phone having Bluetooth 4.2. It's possible to talk with them, but not very comfortably because they're in-ear and create a "barrel" feeling in your head. The microphones are weak, you can talk in a quiet room, but forget it on the street, your interlocutor won't hear you. Great headphones if the goal isn't long conversations or podcasting, but just listening to music while moving from point A to point B. Price, color, weight, convenience, speed of synchronization with the device, they work for a long time on a single charge. Microphones |
I bribed first of all the price, functionality and brand. The headphones themselves and the case are very pleasant to hold in your hands, it is felt that they look better than their cost. Bought blue. Matte plastic, not slippery. In the ears they sit confidently, although a little heavy. I won’t say that the case is small, although I carry it in my bag, I don’t care. But for a jeans pocket, I would not recommend it. A very capacious battery, both in the headphones and in the case. I charge once a week, listen for 2-3 hours a day, sometimes I listen in the car, in one ear (I talk on the phone). It is convenient that they understand when you pull them out of your ears, and the earpiece turns on or off. These are my first wireless headphones, and after reading about the sound delay on the Internet, I was very worried. For a month of use, I still did not understand what it was. I watch YouTube, sometimes I play games. Sound quality is average. There is something to compare. I don't really like the middle. The bass is good though. Everything suits me in terms of sound. As a headset, they also showed themselves not badly, audibility is good for me, for the interlocutor too. You can manage them through the app. There you can also change the tap settings on the earpiece. They look good, and the build quality and materials are also on top. Very reasonable price. A capacious battery in the headphones and in the case (quietly holds a charge for a week). Many settings for headphones (via the application). Good audibility when talking. There are no delays in playback. The sound is good, but in some places there is not enough middle. Although the bass is ok. |
I love this series of headphones from Xiaomi. For what I love, it has excellent noise insulation, good autonomy of both the case and the headphones themselves, excellent sound, and a good microphone with normal noise reduction. It’s even more important when playing sports and in everyday life. І more direct touch control on the headphones themselves. Great sounding touch buttons None |
The Xiaomi Redmi sub-brand continues to delight with high-quality and at the same time inexpensive gadgets, constantly updating the lineup. This year, the company launched the third generation of the AirDots TWS model with one of the most attractive price tags on the market. If at the start of sales AirDots 3 cost $60, today you can buy them for $40. Let's see what Redmi is going to surprise true wireless connoisseurs this time.
old new design
The headphones received a matte plastic case with glossy inserts on the sides. It looks nice, but not practical, as easily soiled gloss immediately collects all the prints. Otherwise, everything is more than good with ergonomics.
Comfortable fit, light weight, IPX4 splash protection make AirDots suitable even for active sports. They will not fall out of the ears when running, and will not tyre with prolonged use. The LEDs on the case still notify you of the status: blinking while connected to a device or lit while charging.
The case has become a little larger compared to AirDots 2, so it is still inconvenient to carry it in a jeans pocket, but the battery capacity has doubled, to 600 mAh, while the charging time of the case remains the same — 1.5 hours.
Headphones are offered in three colours: white, pink and dark blue, which replaced the classic black, and, in our subjective opinion, very successful.
Touch control
The model uses touch control. Double tap on the right earpiece starts the track or pauses, and on the left activates the voice assistant. And it can be Miui, Siri or Google Assistant, depending on the device. And everything would be fine, but the sensor sins with false positives. The infrared motion control sensor, which is responsible for autopausing when you take the earpiece out of your ear, also does not work confidently enough. Sometimes it just doesn't happen.
Sound upgrade
The sound in AirDots 3 is better, but not as much as it could be, given the upgrade. Despite the built-in moving speakers and the Qualcomm QCC3040 processor, you need to tinker with the equalizer settings in your smartphone to achieve good sound. If you leave everything by default, you will not hear any scenes, volume, or emotions.
Don't expect too much from the microphone's noise cancellation either. It is very conditional here, so in noisy places it’s impossible to talk on the phone normally.
Bluetooth 5.2
Thanks to the latest Bluetooth 5.2 protocol and the aptX Adaptive driver, which improves wireless transmission and synchronization, the connection between the headphones and the sound source has become more stable: even a brick wall does not interfere, and the signal range really corresponds to 10 m.
Twice the battery life
And another, perhaps the biggest plus of the new AirDots is the increase in battery life. The charge lasts almost 7 hours at 80% volume. That is, now you are more likely to have to worry about charging your smartphone than headphones. In addition, with a fully charged case, their battery life grows to 30 hours, which exceeds the performance of many more expensive headphones, such as JBL Live Pro + or Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro.
Redmi AirDots 3 are definitely added in all respects. Sound quality, connectivity, battery life have become significantly better, however, and the price has doubled, but still remained out of competition.
