Sony's portable bass "monster" is part of the Extra Bass line of acoustics. For its relatively small dimensions, the speaker produces a powerful sound (according to the passport — 40 W) and deep basses.
Spectacular lighting
It is noteworthy that the degree of bass sound can be adjusted, for which there is a separate Extra Bass button among the controls on the model's case. A long press of the key turns on the backlight around the speaker grille and a pair of strobe lights that shimmer in time with the music being played. The lighting modes of the backlight (and there are more than ten of them) are set in the application for the Sony Music Centre smartphone.
Toughie
The speaker is placed in a plastic case with rubberized inserts on the sides, inside of which two 48 mm speakers and a double passive radiator are installed. From external influences, the body of the model is protected according to the IPX5 standard — Sony SRS-XB30 is not afraid of dust and splashing water. The strength of the speaker is also in the fact that under the rubber plug on its “body” there is a full-sized USB port through which the model is able to share its battery charge with third-party gadgets (Power Bank function).
Music marathon
If you do not distribute the energy accumulated in the tank left and right, then without recharging the speaker lives for a day with continuous playback of tracks at medium volume. With the backlight turned on, the battery life drops to 12-14 hours, which is also a very good result. You can find out the remaining battery charge by pressing one of the buttons on the control panel — the speaker pronounces its level aloud (in English). The model is charged only from a 230 V network. Approximately the same battery life indicators are demonstrated by the older relative of the speaker in the face of the Sony SRS-XB40 — the flagship representative of the portable acoustics detachment, in which the speakers vibrate under the rays of light.
