Sony's flagship has already won TV of the Year at CES-2019. The visually premium status of the model is emphasized by a thin body (only 4 cm in the widest part), minimal bezels around the screen and a neat, rather narrow stand that allows you to place the Sony KD-55AG9 on a small cabinet.

The 55-inch OLED panel with Pixel Contrast Booster technology, responsible for turning individual pixels on and off, reproduces true black. The reference contrast ratio is complemented by large viewing angles and a wide colour gamut, so that the viewer is expected to display the smallest details of the image and comfortable viewing in all types of lighting or their absence. Motion control is also on point, thanks to the sensor's high frame rate (120Hz) and Motionflow XR software feature.

The X1 Ultimate processor handles both Ultra HD 4K and HDR content, with support for the latter's three standards at once — Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. You just need to take into account that the factory calibration is not perfect: in most cases, the picture looks a little brighter than required.

The Sony KD-55AG9 is powered by the Acoustic Surface Audio+ system with a total power of 60 watts. The speakers are located directly behind the matrix, providing the effect of volume and realism: the sound comes as if from the picture itself. A pair of subwoofers are provided to transmit rich low frequencies. As in the Sony KD-55AF9, the existing acoustics paired with an amplifier can become part of a large multi-channel audio system.

Advanced Smart TV

The model uses the Android TV 8 platform with the possibility of upgrading to the ninth version in the future. A neat and stylish multimedia remote control with the Google Assistant voice assistant helps to interact with it. The traditional set of connectors is complemented by Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless interfaces. In the future, AirPlay 2 can add Miracast technology for convenient broadcasting of content from Apple devices.

As befits a premium product, the Sony KD-55AG9 comes with a hefty price tag. But in fact, this particular TV is the best on Android today, which means it is worth the requested money.
