The Ruike S22 compact camping knife from the Criterion Collection series from a well-known Chinese manufacturer stands out among its peers with its light weight (43 g) and small dimensions. When folded, its length is only 71 mm, and when unfolded — 122 mm. The steel handle is made of G10 structural steel and “sheathed” with solid overlays of resin and fibreglass composite, the structure of which is visible in a kind of interlacing pattern. The knife is available in 3 colours: black, dark brown and green, which can rather be called khaki. The model has only 2 tools: the main blade with a blocking slip-joint lock and scissors with a retractable spring-loaded plate. The blade is designed for opening with two hands by prying a special notch with a fingernail.

Hard and sharp blade

The blade of the knife with a thickness of 3 mm is made of Swedish stainless steel Sandvik 12C27 (east european analogue 65X13), which is characterized by high hardness (57 – 59 HRC), impact strength and excellent anti-corrosion properties. This is a solid steel, which is often used by European manufacturers of low-cost knives. It takes a certain amount of skill to keep the cutting edge sharp, but if done correctly, the knife “holds” sharpening very well. However, the very first test of the sharpness of the blade showed that the knife is in perfect order with factory sharpening. The model can be carried in a jeans pocket, as well as suspended from a keychain by the ring attached to the end of the handle. The manufacturer has established a 5-year warranty for the product, as well as a lifetime paid service and repair after the warranty expires.
